  • Hi,

I know I am bit late to the party but we are also marrying on November 1st.

    :hello::hello::hello:
  • *waves to bowledover81* Welcome to the thread date twin! (Date triplet?)

@Minerva - 99 days to go - we are in double digits!!!!

Eeee I know! Still feels like hardly any time to get things done though. That said I did have quite a productive weekend (invites have now gone out and I've had a dress fitting) so the to do list is gradually getting shorter, although it doesn't feel like it! I keep thinking there must be something I've forgotten...

  • Hi bowledover81! Welcome to the thread! :)

    April 2020 grocery challenge $744/$800
    May 2020 GC $724.11/$750
    June 2020 GC $370.31/$700
    July 2020 GC $316.87/$700
  • I'm the 1st November too :-)
  • Does anyone have any good ideas for gifts for the bridal party and parents? I'm thinking of maybe jewellery for the bridesmaids that they can wear on the day (if I can find something they both might actually wear later!) - or otherwise maybe some nice tea cups that they can keep.

Really struggling to think of something for my parents though - I'm thinking of something funny to help them relax once we've left (tea, bubble bath, chocolate) but would also like to give them something special. Possibly a nice photo frame so they can frame a wedding photo of us once they're ready - but does anyone have any other ideas?

  • My bridesmaids are getting a Tatty Devine name necklace each: http://www.tattydevine.com/name-necklace-new.html which they can wear with their dresses. Think OH is getting the ushers engraved tankards or hip flasks.

Not sure about parents - I'm thinking a nice bottle of whisky for the dads but am a bit stumped for anything for the mums beyond flowers. And I don't know what to get my sisters (who were going to be bridesmaids but one is now doing a reading and the other is being a witness) either...

    I'm having this dilemma too!

Bridesmaids are getting jewellery and I'm thinking of getting some nice personalised champagne flutes with their names and the date of the wedding on. Something like this:

Mothers are a bit more tricky - I'm thinking of getting my mum a personalised glass too, but OH's mum doesn't drink... I don't want to get flowers though, I'd rather they got something they can keep. Having said that, OH's mum kicked up a fuss when I said I wasn't having flowers on the tables, as she's read somewhere it was traditional to give them to the mums afterwards! So maybe I won't get her anything, just to teach her a lesson :) (I am joking, by the way, tempting though it is!)

OH is in charge of the men's presents, think he is going for cufflinks or nice socks.

  • Reception finally sorted!! We changed our minds about DIY once we saw how much work/how expensive it would be - now having it at a lovely country pub/inn. I paid the deposit today so it's all confirmed, finally!! What a relief :)

Has anyone else made any progress in the last week or so?

Glad you got the reception sorted, sounds lovely!

My invitations have all gone out in the last week, so hopefully there will be a pile of RSVPs waiting for me when I get home...?! Wishful thinking I know, but I can dream!!

All I have now is final arrangements really, everything is either bought or ordered (apart from rings, but we are going to get those sorted in the next couple of weeks) so my only jobs to do are contacting people to confirm arrangements, sorting music for the ceremony, and a trial run with my hairdresser/makeup lady. Just over 100 days to go for me now!!
