Good thanks - I have my last dress fitting on Sunday (had to move it as got tickets to Strictly Come Dancing last weekend and no way was I giving those up!) and OH picked up the rings on Saturday.


Still to do:


Pay photographer and wedding car company
Go with bridesmaid to buy shoes on Monday
Two more first dance lessons (bless OH, he's letting me have my Strictly moment!)
Keep practising make-up


Get chocolates to go with bridesmaids'/mums'/sisters' gifts


So not a huge amount left now! Though I still keep thinking I'm going to wake up the day before and go 'I haven't done/bought XYZ!!! :eek:'

Hi ladies, not long now!! I'm middle of November so a couple more weeks for me. Only very minor things left now:
Pay for the last few things that can't be paid on the day (final venue payment, photographer, registrar)
Hair and makeup trial
Final dress fitting
Final meeting with venue
Return info pack to registrar with details of readings, music, witnesses etc.


And I'm the same as you Minerva, keep panicking that I've forgotten something really obvious! Had a weird dream the other day that my shoes fell apart on the morning of the wedding and I didn't have anything else to wear!!

I keep having those nightmares too that I am at the venue, 30 mins to go...but no dress and not ready argh!!!!

Wow, you all sound so organised! Well done!

We're at the end of November so have a little more time still - but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed this week! I'm sure it will all get done in time but it feels like a lot to do right now!

I went to the reception venue yesterday for lunch with my parents, and that was very helpful. Silly me didn't ring ahead to have a chat to the manager but we had some really good brainstorms over lunch and at least I'm feeling more confident that it will be lovely.

I still need to get my shoes and it looks like I might need to sort out what the groomsmen are wearing - FI is away for work and may be for longer than we thought Invitations are sent - and I'm beginning to think about table plans (eek). My cousin got married on the weekend, so that was a great 'dry run' for us, even though it was a very different wedding to what ours will be.

We'll get there! Getting excited!! :j

Dress fitting this weekend went OK - there are still a couple of small adjustments to make but it should hopefully be ready by the end of the month. I was stood in front of the mirror swishing about in it and didn't want to take it off!


I've also just paid for the wedding car so the last big thing to pay for now is the photographer in a couple of weeks. Bridesmaid has cancelled the shoe shopping tonight so that will be next week now, and I will get the chocolates on the way home from work tonight. It's all slowly coming together!


My other thing I need to do is write a packing list to tick off what we need to take with us - we're going up on the train on the Wednesday night before the wedding straight from work so I want to make absolutely sure that I have everything we need to take with us. Will do that this week.


Also, has anyone else found their time keeps slipping away from them really quickly? I'd originally planned to keep my weekends as free as possible in October so I'd be nice and relaxed for the wedding, and suddenly I might not have any free weekends at all... Best laid plans eh?!

Hehe I know what you mean! We have the hen/stag this weekend (eeek!) then I am not quite sure where October is going after that.
We paid off the honeymoon yesterday then the venue today - that is going to make the bank balance look depressing!
That's a good idea for packing list... we need to make table plan and email all the dietary requirements... finish presents then think we are getting there! Favours we need to wait to do xx

Hey ladies,
Wow...anyone else feel that life is pretty surreal right now?!
Much left to do? We just have fiddly things like printing table plan - we know where everyone is sat, just need to type it up, then place cards etc x

Same here ellesbellesxxx, feeling very surreal and lots of fiddly things to organise! Started paying some final balances but the main one is not due til 3 weeks before so have a couple of weeks before I see 0.00 in our savings account!:eek:
