Having difficulty putting someone on 'Ignore'

Thanks for the reply. We appreciate staff shortages might be an issue, but could you give us an idea of time-scale for this - 1 month, 3 months, Christmas, a year from now? I'm not trying to be awkward, but having a rough idea of how long this might take to be resolved (given that people have been raising the issue since early April this year, with no joy imminent) would save us having to keep raising the issue & get progressively more frustrated over it. Thanks.

I tried adding someone to my buddy list and a message came up saying that the name couldn't be found on the database, however, the member is still posting. I've looked, randomly, and found that quite a few members usernames don't appear on the members list. I am new to this forum, so was wandering whether I just don't know how to navigate it properly?

Thanks for answering! No, but it does begin with a capital letter, which is why, after reading the posts others have written about the ignore list here, I wondered if it might be the same problem causing it.

Thank goodness I've found this thread, because I thought I was going mad!!!! Just trying to compile a buddy list and most of my buddies have usernames starting with capital letters. So far only the lowercase-only names have registered. As someone who has a *twin* (she joined first, I must concede) with just an initial letter difference, I can see you wouldn't want further confusion. *She* received a PM meant for me, and it was some time before the sender was made aware of her mistake:D

When are we going to introduce a Name n Shame forum, where the names of Trolls, Spammers, and abusers are listed. If that cant be done how about a list of those deleted or banned made available that would not only act as a deterrant to other likewise individuals, but could help potential newcomers to understand that these people exist.

I think there should be an ignore tab next to [EMAIL="abuse@moneysavingexpert.com?subject=Reporting post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=5978429"][/EMAIL] So we dont have to go through a process of opening up their profile. We could also have an unignore tab in the "is on your ignore list"

How about a name and shame section for all those who yelp troll all because other forum members have a different point of view?
