Totally drained today! Had two packs of Go Ahead Chocolate thins last night so not impressed with myself at all. I am so stuck on 14st something - reaching a plateau is just rubbish for your motivation.

I know how you feel Frogga - I always have something food related coming up or on - I'm out for dinner on Friday night and then at a concert. Feel like my little treats and binges keep me sane but then they are stalling my weightloss. :(

Really want to see 13.13 on the scales and then I can start ploughing through that stone. I've been seeing 14.5 - 14.1 now for what seems for ages.....................

I've also noticed that I am always heavier on a Monday (which is my weigh in day) than any other day of the week (after my weekend binges)

    Loving it!:rotfl:

lantanna, any chance you can change your WI day? I'm sure Monday is a good idea in theory but I would hate it. My WI is Thursday and I find that perfect. I save syns for weekends like you do but then I have 3 days completely on plan before WI. I suppose it doesn't really matter as long as you do much the same every week but psychologically it works for me.

:Ton resisting the temptations in Sainsbury's frogga. I know how hard it is to resist the 'naughty' aisles. Assuming your store is set out like mine, I don't need to venture any further than the tea and wine aisles but somehow I can't resist strolling through the crisps.:o I'm OK if everything is overpriced but when faves are on special I can't stop myself. Last night, we were watching England v Scotland game and when our Ricky Lambert scored, DH got up and fetched crisps to celebrate!

If you're not into girly stuff frogga, what does motivate you to lose? I know that I feel so good in smaller size clothes. Does that help? Or might you like to look good in lycra on your bike?;):D

    EE day planned here:
B: NAS Ribena, fried egg on HEB toast, HEA for teas
L: not sure, may munch on some spring onions with a little cheese (I'll then drink squash for rest of day) and a few plums
D: sausages, mash, onions, peas, cabbage carrots
Syns: squirt of sauce, gravy, and 1 syn for sausages

We're off to Wales for weekend to visit family, so very flexi, but will play catch up next week.

My consultant saqid something that was helpful to me.
When people say oh Im going out & will eat too much she always says well it's only one meal out of 21.
Sometimes but not always that helps me to pull back.
I was just saying to someone yesterday that it does rather get me down sometimes that I will ALWAYS have to really think about what I eat.

    Thats like:

    A bunch of 7 roses
1 rose won't spoil the rest as you can throw it away

Could be the same with 21 ;)

  • Hi all,
Well I went to a friends for a BBQ yesterday and promptly scoffed anything in sight, including the very SW friendly pasta :(
Frogga - I completely relate to the binging you mentioned. I can be very controlled when it comes to dieting and then I can sit and scoff everything in sight without even thinking about the consequences until I've finished and promplty feel ill. I've avoided doing that this time ( I only started last Monday lol) but I've always had a bad relationship with food - I love it too much!
I liked all the suggestions for how to deal with it so going to try harder and stop myself before the first mouthful rather than once I'm done.

Can anyone tell me the syn value of the Tesco's own branded pasta & sauces and also the cottage cheese with sweet chilli? I'm hoping the cottage cheese is free as it was actually really nice with a salad. Really hoping all the pasta's are as well as they're cheaper than Batchelors.

btw, I'm also an Aldi convert but sometimes pop into Tesco for bits and bobs that I can't. Interesting that someone found it not as good value for money going by the weight of the food, need to look out for that.

My tip for a treat...a frozen curly wurly :) Could eat the pack though ;)

I made this but added Zero fat Greek Yogurt to it. I wasn't impressed by it at all - it just didn't have that the taste I was looking for. My fav houmous is Asda Reduced Fat (however it is a distant memory) lol as I used to get through a whole tub most weekends lol

think i'll have a try just to satisfy my curiosity but like mine with a kick so will tweak it with adding chilli to see how that tastes :)

not going down the 'scab bran' route but bought some dandelion tea and am very surprised it wasn't too bad.. I hate tea so wasn't expecting much but I can cope with this.. Will drink a couple a day and see how it goes :D

not sure on the pasta sauces as prefer to use passata and a stock cube but the cottage cheese with chilli (100g) is 1/2 a syn.. have you tried the piri piri one, that's really nice and free ;)

WI later, not sure how it will go.. not feeling a big loss but so long as it comes off i'll be fine about it.. good luck for thurs WI's

Pasta in Sauce, Chicken, Garlic & Wine, made up as directed excluding butter, 120g pack 4½ on Green or Extra Easy or 25½ on Original

Everyday Value Tomato & Onion Pasta & Sauce, made up as directed , 100g cooked Free on Green or Extra Easy or 5½ on Original

Pasta in Sauce, Cheese & Broccoli, made up as directed excluding butter, 120g pack 5 on Green or Extra Easy or 24 on Original

Pasta in Sauce, Macaroni Cheese, made up as directed excluding butter, 120g pack 7 on Green or Extra Easy or 26 on Original
Pasta in Sauce, Chicken & Mushroom, made up as directed excluding butter, 120g pack 4 on Green or Extra Easy or 25 on Original

The value one is quite nice - but needs a little something added when cooking eg worchestershire sauce or tabasco or it has a weird after taste!

Aldi do their own pasta and sauce things which are all low syn. I don't eat them myself but worth a try.
