    Hi everyone,

    Lovely pics sweetcarer

Re: lamps - I have this one:

    http://www.craftlights.co.uk/acatalog/Low_Vision_Magnifying_Lamps.html#a56

which I bought at a show for a 'special' price. It's great and means I don't have to wear reading glasses to focus on my work and the light is very bright, and just where it's needed.

Going to do some more flower shop in a bit - using my lamp of course!

    Great site. Thanks

    Hi,
    Sweetcareer,
The wedding sampler is really pretty, but the satin border on your linen is very fine,
I've wondered about one of the magnifiers, are they easy to use?which one have you got?one that goes round your neck or a free standing one, because i am finding my variable specs are not helping and i am now sewing without them......not good!
In fact have any of you clever ladies used them?
    Happy stitching x

Hubby got mine of Ebay - so he doesn't know much about them but he came up trumps with this one -

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ILLUMINATED-CLIP-ON-MAGNIFIER-125mm-GOOSENECK-FRAMELESS-DESIGN-2-LEDS-72g-NEW-/200966475654?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_JewelleryBoxes_Supplies_CA&hash=item2eca890f86

It was only £8 including shipping. It is good as you can clip it onto anything - I clip it onto the screw bit of my hoop and it is so light I hardly feel it on the hoop and it takes normal batteries and you have no heat from the LEDs.
sweetcarer your wedding sampler is lovely Hope it was appreciated. Love your finished sampler. There's an article in the latest XS collection about samplers which features an Autumn sampler by Helen Philips. Wonder if it's the one you're doing
    Hope you feel better soon

Yes its the same sampler I will be doing - its the last one in the series - the making spot has them for sale so get them soon before they disappear - I got them via my cross stitch collection magazine.

    http://www.themakingspot.com/cross-stitch/pattern/winter-sampler

Its only £1.49 so for about £6 you can have the whole set - each one take about 14 threads - I got my threads via someone in America who wanted the Joan Elliott diary at start of year and didn't have paypal so she paid in threads - so got the the threads for all 4. The material I paid about £2.50 on ebay for 28hpi. I don't use the magnifer for it as I see it ok.

Going out later today - a friend is going on a date and I have been asked to be a back up. So I will be sitting in a corner of a pub like place (has food) with my stitching (just as well take something so I won't be bored on my own) - while she goes on her date - I am there for back up and able to take her home afterwards. But I won't stitch if she texts and says help - get me out of here!

Need to do some baking this morning - another friend is having a coffee morning for McMillan on Friday - I can't make it because of work, so this is my donation.

Keep well everyone - thank you for your kind comments re: my stitching

    sweetcarer ;)

I have tonnnns of cards in my stash now (well over 100) :o - I will take a pic next time I'm in the box. Not all cross stitched though, but they are mostly handmade.

I *think* the MP design was WOXS during last winter, there were a few people planning on stitching it. I will see if I have the chart still to check.

Thank you for that.:T I suspected it might be WOXS and thought it was a recent issue rather than one I might have missed when I didn't subscribe so I know I will have it in the mag pile *somewhere*

Funny, I've been back looking at the old thread from last year and found the reviews for the mag. Its weird reading back.

The OH has been in the kitchen today so I have been staying out the way. Not got round to doing any stitching yet although I'm tempted to make my way to the sofa now and snooze/stitch/watch tv :T

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday :D

I did the MP winter cottage as well. Haven't made it up into a card / coaster yet though. It seemed to take me ages, I found there were lots of changes of colour and detail. That's what makes his designs so good I suppose :) Worth it in the end!

Just back from lunch with parents. I am approximately 2/3rds gravy. The remaining 1/3rd is Yorkshirre pudding. I need a lie down.

I have finally finished my Santa Stop Here Xstitch, the back stitching took nearly as long as the main stitching!

Going to make it into a picture kind of 'thing' with some nice Christmasie cord so I can hand it on the wall :D
