Did anyone receive Cross Stitcher yesterday ? I'm
as once again the *free* kit contains inferior materials. The material is folded over on itself and the waste canvas (I think thats what it was) is marked/creased. Such a shame. I used to love this magazine but it has changed so much.
It must be 2 years now since I unsubscribed due to content and qualityPictures please !!
You may regret asking :rotfl:

I have about another 20 completed card size pics, but won't take a photo of them until they are completed into cards.CoffeeandStitches wrote: »
I'm terribly sorry but I cant remember who asked... and I know everyone will probably shoot me, but, I detest even weave. It boggles my eyes and I don't like the feel of it, so it's going on aida magic guide 18ct........ I'm sorry!!!!
I stitched all mine on aida - no point in using a fabric you're not comfortable with, just makes it more likely to become a UFOCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Ok crawling out from behind the sofa to say wow as normal to Louise. You've been so busy again you really put me tl shame.
Last time I posted here was 4 weeks ago just as I was off to Dorset on holiday and to enter sl items in a County show. Well the good news was I got 3 highly commendeds and a second. The bad news is I was involved in a car accident and my car was a write off. The even better news is that neither of us were hurt and it actually put my back back in. Some may remember I was hobbling round on a stick, well no problems since the accident. Every cloud and everything!!
On a stitching front I haven't picked up a needle for weeks although I did consider it lasg night but went to bed instead at 9.15 hence why I'm awake now typing this. Have a to have a minor op next month so may get some enforced "me" time then.
welcome to the new folk on here and look forward to the updates. Even if I dont post I do still trh to read the posts each day. Going downstairs now to make a cup of tea and might pick up my needle.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

I had my tea last night and then tried to watch J4mie 0liver from the other day except I couldn't keep my eyes open and promptly fell asleep. woke when it was bedtime so went up to bed for more sleep. So last night was a write off - no stitching or anythingI'm hoping tonight is better. no fun work, sleep eat.

shelly - love Santa and snowman, so colourful and cute!
Louise - wow you are a busy bee! Love the minionsalso the rennie macintosh letters are fab.
Ailsb - so sorry to hear of your accident, glad you are ok and well done on your awards.
nmm - great progress, it's lovely to see the design building up.
I am off today and have no car (MOT) so once I've stripped the beds and mopped the floors it's stitch o clock :rotfl:

Coffee - use whichever fabric you are comfortable with. Better to do that than not enjoy stitching it or even worse ending up unfinished in a cupboard for years. Looking forward to seeing some pics when you get started.
I haven't used the magic guide aida before, so let us know what you think. I have tried tacking stitches but always seem to run into trouble when I come to remove them.
nmm - great update on BD. You are really speeding along with it now.
Louise - WOW - beautiful cards. I have got to ask you - did you do mackintosh letters from a chart or did you design them yourself? My cousin and best friend share your godmother's name and they both have the same big milestone birthday coming up and they would be perfect for them. Mind you the first one is at the weekend so I might be pushing it time wise and the other isn't til the beginning of Oct (that's a long way off yet isn't it). Lovely to see you back in the Cafe btw
Ailsb - Lovely to see you too :hello: Great results at the show. Hopefully you are recovering from the accident. The night before last, I hadn't closed my eyes at 4.30 am and the alarm was set for just after 6.00 am - no wonder I was flagging last night.
Coxy - enjoy your stitchy time.
It's pouring down here today and not too warm. Got to go out this morning and then its back to diy. Trying to get as much done as we can as we are going up to Edinburgh at the weekend for cousin's birthday (the one I mentioned above). Hubby must be worn out too as he's usually downstairs by now so I thought I would make use of the free time and catch up with you all.
Take care everyone

Coffeeandstitches
Just use what your comfortable with,I have used both and something's look good in even weave and others are good in Aida.i am doing two little dinosaur pic for my grandsons and they are on aida and look really cute,I don't think they would have looked right on evenweave.I haven't used magic guide aida so i will be interested in how you get on.
It's raining, cold and I am sat trying to get motivated to do jobs this morning,so I think I should just sit and sew!!!!
Have a good day x0 -
Hello Again Ladies,
I know it has been a long time since I have posted but I check in with you all everyday. I am so inspired by all your projects, definately time to start stitching again. I have a couple of butterflies to add to an anniversary project (missed the deadline and lost motivation) and then I think i will start on the Xmassy stuff.
Was sad to hear that both ATS and The Making Spot are closing down.
nmm - BD is looking fantastic.
Alisb - Sorry to hear about your accident. Well done on your competition results.:j
Coffee - I only use aida, evenweave makes me go crosseyed:p
Louise - Wow! Just no other words!
Winnie - I hope the business is getting off to a great start.0 -

I got an email from them saying they were stopping at the end of September and to save all projects that are in my account as there would be no access after that. There is an announcement on their blog site too.0
