I will resort to Cross Stitch Heaven (39p each for DMC) but unfortunately delivery can take a fortnight.

Thanks for that recommendation Louise. Was wondering where to get my next lot of threads from as ATS were such a great a price. Now I know :D.

Did anyone receive Cross Stitcher yesterday ? I'm :( as once again the *free* kit contains inferior materials. The material is folded over on itself and the waste canvas (I think thats what it was) is marked/creased. Such a shame. I used to love this magazine but it has changed so much.

    Hi ladies.

Ems. Thanks for the info on your Pirate brother. I googled it and found some pics, looks like he enjoys his job!

MOS. Really like your xmas design, lovely and colourful.

C&S. That's a really nice HAED you have chosen, look forward to update pics on it once you get started.

Louise. Nice to see you back and thanks for the new thread supplier recommendation.

b_e_g, was Sleeping Beauty a kit? She was really beautiful. I am so envious of everyone's work on here and hopefully one day I will be that good and can attempt a large project like that and nmm's BD and Coxy's flower shop to name a few.

Hi Ali - she was a kit I bought on Eb@y from China. I took a chance on it and it paid off. I found the quality of the aida was very good - it was 11 count actually and the threads weren't too bad. There are dmc conversions should they be needed. I did run out of one colour but that was totally my fault - I mixed up two of the symbols :o. I really enjoyed this project. Even though it was quite big it was quite easy.

Can't contain my excitement. Can't wait to be home from work to get started!! :j:j

I'm terribly sorry but I cant remember who asked... and I know everyone will probably shoot me, but, I detest even weave. It boggles my eyes and I don't like the feel of it, so it's going on aida magic guide 18ct........ I'm sorry!!!!

I'm doing mine on 20ct magic guide. The guidelines are proving invaluable.

Isn't it the best feeling - all the threads sorted and a blank piece of fabric?

Good. I'm glad it's not just me! I did such a lot of reading about fabrics and counts and found so many differing opinions (some INCREDIBLY stong!!) that I thought to myself, begger that. I'll try it on something I want to. I'll know soon enough if it's not working! It's my first proper 'project' and I can't wait to get started. You lot are all going to be bored senseless looking at a trillion progress pics!!!

Hi guys, it was me that asked about aida/evenweave, I've only ever used aida so not sure what i'll do Dreams of Atlantis on. I have some tester pieces so i'll try it out and see. :)

Coffeeandstitches, we're never bored of pictures :p

Update on BD, managed quite a bit again and have done even more since that picture was taken.
