Morning all
I've been crocheting to use some wool stash up and make some donations I'd promised to various good causes.
I've asked Dh to photocopy my stocking chart so I can get on with that otherwise Christmas will be here before I've even got it started! Where is this year going?
I hope everyone is well.SPC~12 ot 124

Hope everyone is having a good week, its been hot here most of the week which is rare for Cumbria :rotfl:
Managed some of my lovely Leopard, so here's the latest update
Lovely nmm :THi everyone,
Sorry I've been absent for a while. Nothing wrong, just not much to update you on Lovely update nmm.
I mentioned before that I am doing some craft fairs with my Mum. I have been working on some tooth fairy pillows - took a while to get them right, and they are still a little 'hand made' but overall I'm happy. Was thinking of selling for £3 (they are postcard sized). Would welcome your opinions please....
Did a little bit more on Sydney, but finding my evenings are being taken up with year 6 events (production, PTA drinks etc.) which means it's slow progress.
Have a good evening all
Coxy

I've completed a bit more of my Winnie the Pooh cross-stitch in the last couple of days, will take a picture and share once I've completed the back-stitching on the section I'm working on before I move to a new 1/3.
For those of you that know that I've been trying to rectify a stain issue with Mum's Heirloom Quilt, which wasn't going too well and I then needed to decide what to do with it.
Following a number of visits to my mum where the house is a bit upside down and not at it's best (she suffers with Parkinson's), I've realised that spending loads of time making the double sized quilt won't mean much if mum wasn't able to look after it suitably.
Not to fear though, I haven't thrown the project out altogether, I'm going to turn the existing (non-stained) squares into a wall hanging using the other fabrics I had already purchased.
I feel much happier about this project now, as I'm not stopping it entirely and mum can still enjoy it without it becoming damaged, which would've broken my heart.
Shall share a picture of that too when I've completed it, as it will have an element of cross-stitching in it.
So pleased you have a plan for your Heirloom Quilt. Looking forward to seeing your updates.Does anyone use a lap frame or a floor stand for stitching larger projects?
Sorry I cannot help re the frames but there are some stitchers in the Cafe that does use them so hopefully they may be able to help you.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well? Very hectic few weeks as DS1 has been busy attending 6th form inductions are the 3 places he has conditional offers for. DS2 left primary on Friday and the last week was taken up with class parties, school production x 3 nights, school disco and of course tears!!! Luckily DD is coming to the end of year 8 and no dramas there
Have managed to complete another two aida fronts for the tooth fairy pillows. Have decided to do a production line and do the aida fronts first as they take the time, then I will cut the pockets and backs and hopefully then only get the sewing machine out the once. Need to get a shifty on with these and also knitting some small keyrings (piggy, bee, flower) as the first craft fayre is 26th September and we are away 6-20 August in Florida so no time to do any crafting there lol!
Sorry for the ramble (and lack of photos!). I will hopefully get to do some more on Sydney soon, fingers-crossed.

It's perfect for me as my settee is a recliner, so I have have my legs up while still being able to stitch. The frame I use is (I think...)18 inches long though not as tall, but it fits perfect on the stand and I'm then able to use both hands to stitch. I'm just wondering if I have a photo somewhere to give you an idea...0 -
Here's my update that I've been promising you for ages.
Winnie the Pooh - didn't quite finish the back-stitching here, not that it will take long:2014-2015 - Mmm...Bees Make Honey - Cross-stitch (24) by Kerry, on Flickr
So this is the heirloom quilt, first photo is my plan and the second image is most of the squares cut out ready. Another set of squares to cut out, before I bravely sew them up:Mum's Heirloom Quilt 2011-2014 (20) by Kerry, on Flickr

Lovely update Kez - I did some Winnie the Pooh cross stitches when my three were babies - I found them very enjoyable and they really did 'pop' once the backstitch was done.
Still no updates/photos from me - sorry....! I'm finding it really hard to relax and find the time to sit and stitch. I did manage a little knitting last night - a scottie dog keyring for the craft fayre I'm doing with mum at the end of September. Not sure I'm 100% happy with it though....Not sure what people will expect for £1 but being a Virgo I have high standards lol!
My Dad is coming from overseas on Sunday - was meant to come in September but uncle only has a little time left, so he is coming early. He will be here for a month but we are away on 2 weeks holiday during that time, just can't be helped. He will however, be staying most of the time at our house, so I feel better than someone is there taking in the post and watering the pots. Have a awful feeling that uncle will go whilst I'm away, and having prepaid his funeral I will probably miss the whole thing
Working today for a few hours, then fat club later - had to change to a different group this week as I wasn't able to go on Monday. Hope you all have a good day.
