I need to post an update photo, but the first 1/3 of the cross-stitch is almost complete. Had a cracking night stitching the other day, where I filled in a lot of the colours.

I'm now on to doing the light green colour of the tree and back stitching, which shouldn't take much longer before I can move it to another 1/3. :)

I am planning - one day - to do the magical butterfly by Joan Elliott - I managed to get some evenweave and metallics cheap, so when I heard HC had beads cheap I thought I get some too - even got some petite ones instead of doing french knots (as they will be done in metallics and french knots are fun with cotton so with metallics I thought oh oh). Just need to get the DMC threads and I am all set. Will probably frame it as I can't stitch a cushion to save myself.

Sorry I have not posted much - lost my bug for a wee bit - hope to get back into it this week. OH has been a bit blue of late, so being a good OH back and being gentle with them and trying to lift their spirit.

    Kind wishes to all,

    sweetcarer ;)

Love this sweetcarer - the colours are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your updates. Hope your stitchy bug returns with a vengence soon ;)

Happy Birthday Ruth :bdaycake: Hope you feel better soon.

Looking forward to seeing your pic kez :D

World of Cross Stitching arrived today - nothing really much has jumped out at me as a 'must stitch this'. Might do the Margaret Sherry card that comes with mag just to have ready as a spare card. Will look again at a later date to see if anything inspires me.

    Hi everyone,

I've just made a coffee - anyone else want one??

Mrs Ceejay - the stocking design is lovely, good luck finding a stocking to go with it. Also love the ABC sampler - is that from Historical Sampler Company?

nmm - leopard is really coming to life now - looks great.

sweetcarer - the magical butterfly design is beautiful, I love the colours.

    Ruth_honey - a belated Happy Birthday to you :D

Have done a bit more on the Sydney design - it is slow going - not sure why as it's got more colour blocks that the NY design. I am crocheting some squares at the moment which I will make into a cushion cover. I even took it to work today as I work alone on a Thursday and there's next to nothing doing at the moment. Only trouble is, I think I've got eye strain (despite wearing my reading glasses). That will teach me to bunk off!

I had a 5 for £5 Cross Stitch Crazy sub which I let roll over into a proper subscription earlier this month. Typical that there's not one thing in this month's mag that appeals to me!

Mum and I will be doing 4 craft fairs later this year - September, October and two in December. My sister is running them - ie. hiring the hall and selling table space to exhibitors, advertising etc.. My DSis is craft-phobic which is ironic!! Mum is an excellent knitter and crocheter and already has lots of stuff to sell - in fact, I think I will have trouble stopping her making anything else. I need to get on with some cross stitch cards and some knitted keyrings. I'm also going to make tooth fairy pillows - all using stash, so will just cost me time. I'm not looking to make masses of profit, but would be nice to see what happens.....

On the homefront, DS1 has finished his GCSEs and is now off for the Summer. He gets £10 a week pocket money but is keen to have more! I've told him that he needs to get a job, so we've spent some time today applying. Not a lot doing as the SMs need them to be 18+ which is a pain. There's vacancies at our local sorting office, so we applied for that one. Not as easy as it was 'back in the day'. Oh well, nothing ventured.....

Have a good evening all - update pic to follow.

Wouldn't say no to a coffee foxy, I'll join you.
Not done any stitching for a while as I've been working on my wooly stash. Need to get started on the Christmas stocking kit soon.

Noticed you are reading the dressmakers daughter (title seems familiar I'm sure that's in our house somewhere). I'm reading the alchemists daughter at the moment. I've reading the glass painters daughter in the past. In the run up to Father's Day it seems apt there are so many talented parents out there. (But, Guessing the dressmaker is a mum)
