    hi everyone:wave:

i've been following this thread for a little while now and have decided to finally join in.

i love to cross stitch, finding it very relaxing after work and when the kids are in bed.

i enjoy seeing all the pictures of all of your work. hopefully below is a picture of my current work in progress- Northern Lights. this is the biggest stitch i have ever done and really enjoying it

    Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in ages. I've just been reading up on what I've missed.

calleyw, barbeka and emmlouie - Hi and welcome to the caf! :D

nmm - the leopard is coming along nicely. Lovely detail.

b-e-g - love the framed 'Thank God' piece, well done.

Mrs ceejay - congrats on the new baby news. Is this your DD that lives in Oz?

sweetcarer - I love your framed pieces and I, too find it incredibly short-sighted and snobby not to have let you exhibit them all. I hope that you had a nice time there and had plenty of people through the door. Take care.

Not a lot of stitching here. I have, though, finished knitting my cotton sweater. Just have to make it up now. I'm off to York on Friday for my solo trip. I have researched which shops I want to visit and when they are open (need to make the most of my time there) as some are shut on Sundays. Hoping for good weather as I'd like to get up to the top of the Minster.

    Hope all are well.

Thanks Coxy. Enjoy your trip to York - wish I could come and have a mooch round with you. :D Don't know whether I would make it to the top of the Minster though  York is one of our favourite places to visit. We are off to Northumberland for a little break in the morning - really looking forward to that now it has got so close. My dilemma atm is - do I apply nail varnish now before bed or wait til in the morning. Whichever I choose I'll probably wish I'd done the other way. :D

Oh nearly forgot - only a teeny weeny bit of bs to do on snowman and it has really given be grief. I have probably re-stitched it 3 or 4 times and I still didn't like it so I have thrown it to one side and will have another attempt when I get back.

Finally got round to framing one of these! I finished the stitching but was slightly horrified when I took them to be framed and was told £44 each! I couldn't afford that for gifts so I had a look through my frame stash and found a couple the right size. A lovely neighbour who does card making gave me some mounting board I'm just working on the other now but can't post that till after its given as it has the school and teachers details on in the space along the bottom.

You've been so quick it looks fab,my goodness the cost of framing is getting
More and more expensive,I try and do my own now and to be honest they look just as good.its the mounts that cost I think especially the double colour ones.
    nmm,
    The leopard is looking great.

Had a fab time Mrs ceejay - never fails to disappoint. :D As for the nail varnish - didn't manage to get done before bed so had to do it in the morning before we left - picked something up, it slipped out of my hand, made a grab for it and yes you guessed it - smudged thumb nail :rotfl: Fortunately had used a fairly neutral colour so wasn't too noticeable ;)

Hi guys, sorry I've not posted in a couple of weeks, looks like its been fairly quiet here of late too.

Emmlouie, love northern lights as you can guess I love animal stitches :)

mrs-moneypenny, glad you found a cheaper framing option, £44 each

Latest leopard update, its 2 weeks worth, but its really taking shape now.
