Our local sewing&knitting shop(now defunct) had one of these floor standing frame and they had a project going on it,anyone could do some and the money they charged went to charity,as I remember it took about a year to finish, after that it on exhibit in local church.
I use frames for long term projects,my leopard is on one, they are useful as they keep the tension and don't leave ring marks on your project but they can be awkward to use,I have small and lge frames, they can be heavy to hold so I tend to use the lighter rings now.
All the wip are coming on great,we are a industrious lot love the grandmas house and the poppies are going to be spectaculous.0 -
Funny you should mention frames, I saw this floor frame and nearly died laughing, I mean I suppose its handy for massive HAED projects but it looks HUGE :rotfl:https://www.facebook.com/Crossstitchheaven1/photos/a.122460191146314.20489.122242567834743/735265746532419/?type=1&theater
Wow I didn't know that Q snaps came in huge sizes - I like them as frames but haven't used them for large projects (and I've never done anything the size of the photo).
Would be great for hand quilting though
BTW do you know which magazine (and which issue - number or date) your Remembrance Fields design was in? I love yours so much I may be tempted to add to my to do list and I'm likely to have the magazine.0 -

New York is looking great, the yellow cab really is a pop of colour good news about history dress sampler looking forward to seeing your progress.
Not a lot of progress with the leopard, spent last couple of days giving the house a good clean,i have let it slip with having grandsons here for a week,it's amazing the havoc two small boys can make!!!!!0 -

Afternoon,
Current WIP, Bothy Threads Row of Cats.0 -

Hmmmm
Me thinks the historical costume project will be long......
I've just sorted 48! Yes 48 pictures ( 2 for each costume) plus instructions etc and found I need 53 different colours
Actually quite excited by it so must get on and finish NY.
Need to find nice fabric and check my stash of threads at home to make sure I don't buy any I already have
I may tweak it a bit to add a bit of glamour to words and maybe a change of colour here and there to match thread I have
Will print it all out when I get home on Sunday and organise myself
Love the cats JCS10 -
