    Hi ladies.

JCS. Over The Top looks great and your beadwork is lovely.

mos. What a lovely design you had/have planned! Judging by fos' calculations though you are going to have to find something smaller, what a shame. Hope you find something else just as nice.

Mags. Lovely piece you have recently finished, it's really nice.

Thanks Shelly, I have so far been through 111 pages of charts on the HAED site and have only found 3 that are possible!

Ladies, could you give me your opinions on the following charts please, I think I prefer Blossom so far but not sure it will suit the fire guard?

Haven't caught up on the thread in a while, but I thought I'd pop on and report on what I found on clearance at Hobbycraft today: Ivory 16 count aida 30"x36" on clearance for £5. Might be worth checking out if you have one near you.

Out of those 3 I agree with you, I like the Blossom one best.
Have thought about this some more and I'm wondering, would it look 'right' if you found a design smaller than your maximum size and then use fabric (plain or patterned) to fill the gap around the edge? So it would end up looking like a design would if you have put it in a frame with a mount?
Like Marias little girl designs, framed in fabric but then yours goes in the firescreen.

Been thinking some more...got to be careful, I'm not used to all this thinking :rotfl:

How about a design that doesn't use up all the fabric but looks right because it's designed that way?
Mirabilia Fairies spring to mind as an example https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fairy+cross+stitch+charts&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0bW7U-6oO6vn7AaQnoDYCQ&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=865#q=fairy+cross+stitch+charts+mirabilia&tbm=isch&imgdii

I also thought of an Anchor bird table design that I have, would be similar to the fairies in that it wouldn't fill the whole area but it's not meant to so would look ok. If that kind of thing appeals, let me know and I can send you a pic or if you google anchor feeding time cross stitch chart it should be the first one that comes up in images. (couldn't link to it as it's an old e&ay listing and the image has been removed)

    Hi ladies

Been trying to post a pic all over the weekend and it just wasn't working for me but it turns out that I must have been having a senior moment. :o

Thought I'd better show you what I've been up to over the last week. Still having to rest (drs orders honest :p) but I have been feeling a bit better so the Red Tree has come out.

So this is what it looks like now -

Lovely pics everyone as usual :T

Congratulations Mrs_T_M - hope all goes well for you.

Will pop back into Cafe through the week.

Shelly, what a fantastic idea! Problem is I love all of the fairies and the bird table design!

Thank you so much, I shall go and look at more of the fairy designs and hopefully decide on a design. :j

shelly what a brilliant suggestion. I love Mirabilia designs and have stitched a few. Her mermaids might also be suitable The older charts can usually be found at reasonable prices on EB

And if you stitch on a coloured or hand dyed fabric the background looks lovely as well

Can't wait to see which one you choose
