How about these from Dunelm Mill?

    http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/annabelle-collection-storage-box-288541

Various sizes that try can be stacked up or nested inside each other when empty.

    Love those storage boxes

WHSmith also have similar items some of which are on offer:money:

Probably won't be until holiday in September but will definitely report back.

Cried my eyes out on my sunlounger!

Thanks. Have just started The Four Streets after I finished the latest of the Tony Hill Wire in the Blood books. Thankfully the ending suggests there will be another one :D

Thanks Shelly, sorry the one you saw was so expensive :(

I was thinking of doing the following design as I have already purchased the chart but can't for the life of me work out if it will fit as it needs to be roughly 14 inches x 26 inches!

    http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_39&products_id=853

Do any of you Ladies have any idea if I can make this fit?

I am off to Hastings for the weekend and not sure if I will be able to get internet access so please don't think I am being rude if I don't respond until Sunday evening.

Hope you all have some lovely stitching time this weekend :D

It's a fabulous design but not the right size for your fire screen. Based on the stitch count you would have to stitch on 32 count OVER 1  to fit the 14 inch width and the depth would be too short so you have lots of fabric showing.

You might be better working out the approx stitch count you need and look for a design that matches ......

So for example if you prefer to stitch on 14 count or 28 over 2 you should look for a design approx 196 stitches wide and 364 stitches long. On 16 count it would need to be 224 x 416. HAED designs are usually 25 over 1 so look for a design approx 350 x 650 stitches

    Hope this makes sense

Oh my word, how do you work out these things fos?! I am in awe :D:D

Thank you tricksie and fos for the Dunelm and WHS suggestions. Don't have a Dunelm near me, but Mum does, so will take a look next time I visit. Don't know why I didn't think of WHS as there's one in the high street, albeit a tiny one. Thank you both for taking the time to research and reply x

Crocheted cushion is finished so I just need to sew it up. Then it's back to Daisy Girl :D

    Have a good day all

    Hello all :)

Although I've not been posting much, I have been lurking (and stitching - a bit!). Some lovely stuff been completed recently. I particularly like the band sampler - the colours are great but I think the intricacy of those stitches would fox me!

I've just finished a piece that's going to be a present - so I've kept it private on Flickr but I have posted it in our group because I know the recipient isn't a member! :sneaky:

It was one of those pieces that I *hated* by the end of it...far too much confetti stitching and whilst I loved the design to start with I would never stitch it again! No backstitch at all, and I'm leaving off the French knots because I think it looks fine as it is. (And because I can't do French knots!!)

Who was it that posted a link to a company where you can buy frames online? As this is quite a small piece I fancy having a go at framing it myself.

Now I'm off to have a look at my stash - do I go back to my monochrome monstrosity or do I start another piece that I bought a while ago as a present? Decisions, decisions...

Wow, fos - I have no idea how you work out such things as I am useless at it! Thank you so much. I will look for something of the sizes you suggested, trouble is that is going to be a difficult challenge I think.

    Hi ladies.

JCS. Over The Top looks great and your beadwork is lovely.

mos. What a lovely design you had/have planned! Judging by fos' calculations though you are going to have to find something smaller, what a shame. Hope you find something else just as nice.

Mags. Lovely piece you have recently finished, it's really nice.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

I haven't used this company for frames for stitching but I did order a "name" mount and frame for photos as a present and was delighted with it
