It is for my DD as she loves Wolves so once it's framed it will be put on her bedroom wall.

Does anyone add dates to their work and do you think it would spoil the wolf picture if I did add a date?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't A lot of the samplers I've stitched have spaces for dates and initials but there isn't anywhere obvious on pictorial pieces. I certainly don't think it would spoil your picture to add the date (and possibly your initials).

Another idea is to add something inside the frame - you can include a lot more detail that way e.g. your name, DD's name, name of design and designer, date started and date finished. It would be really interesting in years to come for someone to find that information I do a bit of quilting and quilt makers are always encouraged to stitch a label onto the back of the quilt

I started off doing it the same way as you. Then I read somewhere that if you put it in the other way it means when you hold the side of the frame you're holding the back of the fabric so it avoids getting greasy marks on the front. I can't say I've noticed greasy marks on either side, probably because I wash my hands before I start stitching, so I don't think it really makes much of a difference.

Good point about the marks - even though like you I wash my hands before settling down to a stitching session, we all have natural oils in our skin which washing doesn't remove.

That way is called "in the well" the same as hoops I guess? I've never tried it like that, may give it a go on my last page of BD when I get there.

Well done on finishing happy nappers mos its adorable and grandmas house looks lovely bigbird. :)

This is the advent sampler,it's taken from the zweigart no 253 Christmas season, nice and simple.
I have done bits for cards, they on flikre, but for the life of me they won't appear here, but the advent just appeared, machines!!!!!!

Have just come back off holiday,we went to WHitby,Yorkshire Coast, took loads of winter jumpers and waterproofs, because of bad wheather forecasts,BUT they got it wrong,we had lovely sunshine,it did rain but mostly at night. We did get wet on Sat.but it wasn't the wash out predicted, lovely holiday?
I have a lot to catch up on here, and GS2 is arriving soon,so it's a mad scramble,he's just hit the terrible twos,so lots of screaming when he can't do something and won't let me help, but it will pass, hopefully soon,as my ears will give out first.
    Have a good day x

I remember seeing this design booklet advertised in some of the XS mags and liking it then. Seeing your version makes me like it even more and I love the linen you have used.

Flickr have changed their layout so this is how you get images from there to here:
Open the image and look in the top right for the share this symbol - like a box with an arrow pointing out of it. Click on this symbol and you will be presented with a menu of options - click on BBCode, select your size (I usually use medium), copy the code and then paste it into the message here

And just to prove it works - here is your lovely update

    Thanks,flower of Scotland,
will try on next update,it was in xs magazine which quoted 3 suppliers, but only one actually stocked it,I got this one from sewandso,it was out of stock for about 4weeks just before Christmas, finally it arrived in the new year.
So decided to get it done early.
i have been tempted to do the Christmas tree from lavender and lace,I have had the chart for years and all the green has put me off,but this could be the year!

That's the one,it's lovely but I am being strict,I must finish all the ones I've started but it would take me a while so if.... I want it for this Christmas I just might need to start it... Decisions!!! Decisions!!!
