    Morning all,

JCS1 - hope cows and calves are doing well, they look lovely.

mrs m-p - love your recent makes, especially the tooth fairy bag.

sweetcarer - the twisted band sampler is gorgeous. I'd not heard of those stitches before.

pm2326 - Elvis is coming along great.

nmm - BD lovely as always.

emslovesmickey - your photostitch is really taking shape.

Managed to walk 30km on Saturday with DH and DS2 (10). Only a few tears from DS towards the end of our 7 hour epic hobble. Parts of the walk were so hard and my knees were so stiff on Saturday night. Still stiff now - DH and DS (plus dog) are fine, so I'm obviously a lightweight.

Did some stitching on Daisy Girl last night. The colours are really different from the picture on the packet, for instance the hair and dress colours, but I will persevere. Going to see Mum tomorrow so will be taking Silver Anniversary to the framers. Will sort fabric, and threads out today for the Garden Medley which I will stitch alternatively to Daisy Girl so I don't get bogged down.

    Have a good day all

  • Love all the updates, Elvis is looking amazing as is BD.

I have very nearly finished Happy Nappers, just a few odd stitches to put in and it will be ready for framing, fortunately my DD loves it! She adores Wolves and can't wait to get it hung in her room :D

I will post an update once I have finished it. What will I move onto next, do you think it's too early to start a Christmas stocking! :rotfl:

I'm having a break from Christmas stockings this year but in past years I have started in January (because I always have to stitch 2 or 3 at once as can't give to one and not to their siblings)

So no May isn't too soon to start :D

Hi All. I've not posted for a little while. Had a busy couple of weeks and been diagnosed with Post Natal Depression :( Though to be honest I think I feel a bit better already for just having admitted that something isn't right and sought help for it.

There have been some lovely updates, I particularly love the flower cat, Elvis, Beautiful Dreamer, the twisted band sampler and the farmyard scene (I should have made notes as I was reading as I can't remember who did what now :o )

My irises are on hold for the moment as I wanted to make something for my Mum's birthday and so have started on this. [IMG][/img]14173369491_1018dce96d.jpgIMG_20140513_125150 by Mrs Nut, on Flickr

Though, since her birthday is this coming weekend, I think she'll be getting an IOU! My Dr wanted to sign me off work for a couple of weeks and I asked him not to as I didn't want to be sat at home feeling sorry for myself - I'm thinking now maybe I should have let him as then I'd have loads of stitching time! Oh well, hopefully it won't take too long and will be worth the wait.

Sorry to hear this but you are so right that admitting you need help is a vital first step

I love the Grandma's House design - in fact I have it in my stash. I love the Historical Sampler Company designs - lovely colours and quite quick and easy to stitch

    I'm sure it will be

I've just noticed that you put your stitching into the clip frame the opposite way to how I do it. I have the fabric on top like this

I know we're not the only ones who use these frames - I wonder which the most popular method? I'm sure there isn't a right or wrong

Ooh this is stunning. Will you be framing it for display in your home or is it a gift?

It is for my DD as she loves Wolves so once it's framed it will be put on her bedroom wall.

Does anyone add dates to their work and do you think it would spoil the wolf picture if I did add a date?

I started off doing it the same way as you. Then I read somewhere that if you put it in the other way it means when you hold the side of the frame you're holding the back of the fabric so it avoids getting greasy marks on the front. I can't say I've noticed greasy marks on either side, probably because I wash my hands before I start stitching, so I don't think it really makes much of a difference.
