b_e_g - hope you've got some nice plans for the weekend. I have very little planned, except lunch with some friends on Sat and some stitching and card making. Should really try and do some housework too, I suppose lol.

Nothing really too exciting planned here I'm afraid. Yesterday morning it was shopping (mainly food) with DH and a friend. Lazy afternoon :o doing very little and then went to Church last night. This morning I have visited Mum, coloured friend's hair and just had some lunch. I think friend is coming round for a meal later and she might have her little 3 yr old dgd with her. So looking foward to that. No great plans for tomorrow so hopefully I will be getting the needle out at some point. Sorted kit out I bought from China and the fabric is 11ct but as there is quite a bit of fabric on show I have changed it to 28ct evenweave which I think will look better. :)
Hi everyone, bit of a lurker here but an avid stitcher and knitter. I've just finished a project and thought I might have a go at framing it myself or turning it into a cushion. Has anyone else done thus with their projects? Is it fairly straight forward? Are there any good step by step instructions anywhere?
    Would appreciate any comments
    Thanks

Welcome to the Cafe Annie.

Here is a pic of a cushion I did last year for friend's birthday. Not really that good at normal stitching and I'm not very good at trying to explain how it did it (involved plenty of unpicking) :rotfl: I am sure someone will be along soon who will be better equipped to help you. Looking forward to seeing some pics. ;)

Lovely updates ems. :T The photo pic is going to be fantastic. I have never tried doing one of these but there again I never seem to take any photos that would be good enough :rotfl:

Hi all, lovely updates as usual.

Welcome Annie, i'm sure I recognise the username from the lose weight threads, I was the one doing davina workouts in the HHE's, I think its you? Either way enjoy your stay, the owls are really cool :)

Almost finished page 14 on BD, i'm going to try and get it done today, I've had 2 days of no stitching due to being bitten by a dog last week (see thread) I'm going to take a little break from BD to stitch a design for a work friend who had a stroke last week, very unexpectedly. I said I was going to do a little card, then someone said oh we can all sign it so I need a bigger design, haha she loves cats so I went for this one http://www.sewingcafe.co.uk/Anchor-Margaret-Sherry-Floral-Cat-MSH0004 a cute funky design that will hopefully cheer her up :) Do you guys think it'll look ok on iridescent aida, as that's all I have in large enough or I have some 18ct cream aida but the design will be smaller, decisions decisions :rotfl:

Oh my goodness nmm I hope you are ok after the dog incident. Hope friend is recovering from the stroke. I'm sure they will love the MS design.

Well I'm pretty much caught up with you all again. :) Great to see new members in the Cafe.

    OFF TOPIC

I noticed that nmm and Annie mentioned SW in a few posts back. Well .............. my friend and I are trying to pluck up the courage to join a new group that is starting tomorrow. We know we should but ................ :o I really need to get a grip of things as I can really feel the extra weight and it is really impacting on my life atm. It didn't seem to be having much effect but then all of a sudden - oh my goodness. I did SW many many many many years ago when it was just red and green days and I lost an awful lot of weight, was entered for the Slimmer of the Year (came runner up) and now I have regained that weight plus some :o I know that when I am in the right frame of mind I can lose the weight my trouble is keeping the darned thing off. So if we actually make it to the first class - no excuse really as it is less than 5 mins walk away - I will let you know. Will probably be badgering you for all the tips you can give me. I mentioned nmm and Annie but I am pretty sure there are some other Cafe members do SW (Flat Eric I'm sure). Just looked up how many cals are in one of those big red Lindt balls  :rotfl:

Anyway that's it for me for now and talking of chocolate ....... hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend whatever you are doing.

Of course we can help, there are lots of support links about, several on FB and one specific to SW on mse, good luck tomorrow if you go. I've been dieting for years but this time I really feel I have it by the throat and am making big progress (40lbs down since start of Jan) the new EE plan works really well and is very friendly. Good luck
  • Evening All,

Sorry I have been gone from this thread for a while, life been getting in the way and not up to chatting much, courtesy of the black dog!

I have still been doing a bit of stitching and have nearly finished Happy Nappers, on page 9 of 9, hoping to get it finished for my DD 17th Birthday on the 11 May.

Love all the update pictures, I have been reading and keeping up with you all, just not posting much on here.

Here is where I am at today with HN..........

Page 14 of BD completed :j I've made a start on Floral Cat only 6 stitches so not worth a photo, hopefully I can get it finished quickly, then back to the last 2 pages of BD.

I haven't used SW, I just did workouts in my living room :o I now keep track of all my food using My Fitness Pal, I've added all my recipes as I cook everything from scratch, my job is quite active so I don't have to worry about things too much :) Whilst we are on off topic stuff, my OH has swapped to e-cigs and has not had a real cigarette since last Saturday, some people say they don't work, well they are working for him which i'm super happy about :T plus they are cheaper too :money:

Finished my two little owls, and started on a little bear pattern for a friends birth sampler for her new little girl.

In progress shot of the bear pattern. It has 5 different colours of brown/tan, so it may end up doing my head in!
