Looking forward to seeing yours when you can post photos
Lovely coaster fos - sparkly aida looks great.FOS - It's looking good, did you find that design on Pinterest?
You might recognise my latest finish
- I've been stitching this over the last three evenings on a nice wine red evenweave I have had sitting in my stash for about 8 years!
Great design Louise and the coloured aida looks gorgeous.
Wow the backstich really brings the design to life. The colours are really lovely.

Latest BD update, I should be finished the page by my next update :j

Totally off topic but is anyone else fascinated by hoarder shows, I love "watching" them whilst stitching and it always makes me feel grateful my house isn't that bad
I was catching up with the hoarder next door, the lady with the rabbits was on and I glanced across at my little zoo forming and thought oh oh :rotfl:
Love BD update. Another follower of hoarder programmes here. DH is going to try and get me a job as a professional declutterer.
mrs-moneypenny wrote: »talking of which i added to the mag stash at the weekend, nipped in a charity shop and saw two binders full of XS magazines of various types with £1.50 labels on, i asked if that was for the whole binder and she said yes so i said id take them both, she then said did i wnat some more as the lady whod just dropped them off had also brought loose mags in but they didnt know what to do with them. she brough about 20 more mags from the back and said would an extra 50p be ok for these?. so i got the lot for £3.50 couldnt believe my luck some even have the cover kits on.
i started making a biscornu from one of them ive never attempted those before.
Wow great bargain. :T I've never tried biscornu before - they always look a bit complicated to me (not that I've really studied them before). Looking forward to seeing your updates. Here is my update on my sampler, I'm enjoying stitching it..

He is so cute. Reminds me of one of our rabbits. We thought we had a boy bunny named Dougal only to find out that he was actually a she rabbit :eek:Mrs_ceejay wrote: »

I love the Christmas Tree one and also the Graduate though I don't think anyone in the family graduates this year. May well be tempted the following year
Thanks a lot fos for leading me astray. I just had to click your link didn't I? I love the Christmas Tree too. DH has said it would make a nice Christmas cushion.
Welcome to the Cafe HappySocks and Shaztastic. Looking forward to seeing all your updates very soon
Well I think that's just about caught up with everyone for now.
Anyone doing anything exciting over the weekend?

This is the kit I chose. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/156178651/modern-cross-stitch-kit-by-carissa-rose?ref=sr_gallery_3&ga_section_id=14318034&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
Currently working on the Bothy Threads cut thru haberdashers so quite a difference. My Mum reckons the leopard looks a bit scary (she's probably got a point!!) but I liked the contrast of the colours on the black background (and I like big cats).
Might well invest in a R&R frame for smaller projects as lots of you seem to like them.0 -

Oh wow - what can I say. That'll be a project and a half.

Mrs ceejay your peacock is beautiful!
Hello and welcome to Shaztastic. The colours in the leopard design are wonderful. I'll look forward to your updates.
I also don't think I'd said hello to happysocks yet - welcome to the thread.
Thanks for the advice Ali and FOS. I've had a look at some tutorials on parking and agree that will probably be the way to go. I have my highlighter at the ready too, so will make a working copy. I had a parcel from Sew and So this morning so now have my Magic Guide Aida and the threads needed for the first 30 rows. I'm itching to get started, but need to finish the irises first else they'll go back to being a UFO.
Here is the latest update:

It's coming along well
Just need to finish the pot and then it's borders and LOTS of backstitching! Once I get to the back stitching I might have this as my lunch break activity. Hopefully then I won't get carried away and spend too long on it as I lose interest in backstitching fairly quickly.

Morning
I'm on holiday :j:j
As promised here's where I'm at with Elvis:

It's one of those weird stitches where you use a colour and think 'really' is that supposed to be that colour ie his face uses terracotta, pumpkin and raspberry colours so far :rotfl: and it looks wrong close up but from a distance it looks right ...you also cant see the elvis shape in the background when your stitching, you need to be standing away from it.
Anyway, washing just finished so I'm going to go hang it on the line, go shopping then come home and do some stitching :T
Have a nice day everyone x0
