That's quite strange Louise. I do 2 days at school for my teaching assistant course and I love it, it's one of my favourite places to be!

I stepped in when my daughter wanted to go to rainbows and they were struggling to find people to run a new unit, somehow, I'm still not sure how! I became leader in charge! It's now 3 years later. It does make me sad though :-(

maria - it is dreadful that you are being made to feel guilty about standing down with the Rainbows. What a cheek they have.

nmm - love the gloves. My hands are always cold when I'm on the laptop or cross stitching.

maria its sad that organisations care so little about volunteer help that they try and make you feel guilty for leaving. you have not made this decision lightly and you have lots of things on your plate that need your attention more. sorry they are not more appreciative of the 3 years you've given them

Thanks all, I'm not sure if she intended to make me feel guilty, but she knows I'm aware of what would happen if I cant find a replacement so I do think it was unnecessary of her to say. Was it done to make me feel bad on purpose? I'm not sure but it is possible!


Ok so I'm determined to sit on my bum for a little while tonight and pick up some cross stitch, will get some of my jobs done today and then if they aren't all done its tuff. got littlest imp of school as he was sick in school yesterday so cant go back for 24 hours. There's nothing wrong with him now!! still is someone to chat to!

Ruth_honey, glad you found your scarf, I finished mine too then decided it was too short and not wide enough, so I unravelled it all. However I learnt how to make a center pull ball of wool with a toilet roll tube and created some lovely fingerless gloves to keep my freezing cold hands warm when stitching/using computer. Here are the gloves and i'm currently turning my granny squares into a bag There is a crochet thread on MSE but I don't like leaving the caf!, its too nice in here :beer:

Those look great! Was it a free chart? I'm still working on my second scarf. Was hoping it would be finished today so I can start something new tomorrow at the group. Then I can get extra help!

Looking fab! Such a happy, cheerful design.

Gosh, it's gotten dark quickly. Been sunny here today, but very chilly. Been having endless cups of tea to keep warm.

Yes it was I got it from Ravelry, its super easy to follow and mostly double crochet This is the ravelry link or direct to the pdf if that doesn't work clicky
