thanks for the reminder nmm - here's my finished valentines day card.
I love the effect the variegated threads had on it to get the range of colours.
try to enjoy the trip Coxy.
Maria, I know the rainbows will miss you, that's no excuse for them being mean. You are doing what is best for you and your family.
Love the chart *Louise* I can remember when we first discussed that. is it as huge as it looks? (silly question lol)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Ruth - glad you found your scarf. It would have been awful for you to have lost it.
Louise - love all your finishes.
Mrs MP - tiger cub is so cute.
Maria - As others have said you have to do what is right for you and your family. Three years is quite a while to volunteer for and it's time for a change. Love the keyring.
Sweetcarer - the sampler is really coming along. Lovely to hear from you and hope you come back again soon.
nmm - the gloves look so snuggly. Makes life easier if your hands are warm.
Mrs Ceejay - the dinosaurs is really colourful. I can't recall was in your grandson you were doing it for?
Coxy - have fun skiing. I loved skiing but can't do it anymore due to my hip replacement:( However I think you are really brave taking the scouts with you.
Fos - love the finishes. Clearly and animal lover.
Chicky - hope your husband appreciated the card. I absolutely love it.
Well managed quite a bit of stitching at the beginning of the week but not done much since Wednesday so will tackle some today. DS1 is down at his dad's in England, so just me, DH and DS2 at home. Think we may go to a butterfly and insect world near us today as it's just so not DS1's thing these days as he is 9 going on 15 lol, whereas DS2 who is 2 will love it. Then some ironing in the afternoon and some stitching this evening I think.0 -

No,not this time,it's for my DILs nephews, they are 4yrs and 2yrs,and it's the eldests birthday at the end of the month.it takes a week to get there and then a friend is going to frame it,sent the measurements already.
Just hope they like it.
My grandson is not too impressed that it not for him but he is nearly8yrs old and I think it's a bit young for him.
but from the way he's looking at it
I am trying to talk him in to something else!!!
Have a good day at the butterfly world and then some sewing, good end to the day.0 -
thanks all, hubby loved it and wanted to know how I'd stitched it without him seeing (mostly yesterday while he was at work lol).
Have proper got my bug back now and finished Treak or Treat too (another Ursula Michael surprisingly).
Now I'm torn..... I want to complete London Underground but I also want to do more on the boys Superhero Afghan. might have to alternate them.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Great finish chicky. What colour frame are you going use? How organised are you - already for Halloween
Have great urge to stitch - anchor threads nearly all sorted now just waiting for another pack of bobbins. Might just sort a little cover kit to calm my itch to stitch. Don't really want to start anything major as we still have lots of work that needs doing.
Have a good weekend everyone.

chicky. Love the card and it's great that it was appreciated. It would look lovely in a coaster. I'm another fan of Ursula Michaels designs and the Halloween is fabulous. Wonderful colours. Excellent news on return of stitchy bug
I picked up my superhero name plate this week Not as big an undertaking as your afghan as there will only be 5 letters and possibly a border

maisiem. Hope you get some stitching done this evening

ruth honey Having admired so many lovely crochet pieces recently I persuaded a friend of mine to try teaching me again. Well after an hour I had only managed a few chain stitches and 3 trebles and have decided it just isn't for me. Not that I need any more hobbies - not until I can get into a time machine and go back in time to gain extra years of stitching life.......
Sounds like it's just not your thing. I don't get on well with knitting, even though I guess many people do both crochet and knitting. At least you've got more stitching time with fewer hobbies.Ruth - glad you found your scarf. It would have been awful for you to have lost it.
I would've been gutted if I had lost it. Luckily I must've dropped it in the pub and someone handed it in. If it had been outside somewhere, I doubt I'd have found it.
I finished my second scarf now. Same design, different colour. I half want to keep it myself, but I might give it away. My friend loves purple, so it might go with her birthday presents. The rate we're going, she might still need to wear a scarf in April!chickywiggle wrote: »thanks all, hubby loved it and wanted to know how I'd stitched it without him seeing (mostly yesterday while he was at work lol).

Oooh, that's a great design, Chicky. I love Halloween stitches. I think it lends itself well to cross stitch designs.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
