Everything seems quiet on here - hope everyone is okay and still having time to stitch. xx

I have been progressing with my DMC chart - will post a pic when I get to the end of the second box of threads. Been a bit sower on this one, too many distractions :)

We went shopping last night so we could have Saturday completely free, glad we did because it's miserable outside, horrible wind and some snow. Kids are having a pyjama day and we are having a DVD night :j

Sorry I haven't been around much over the last couple of weeks but I have been reading and seeing lovely pics in the Cafe. Well done everyone :T

Well here's my first finish of 2014.

    Family%20Tree%20-%20Jan%202014.jpg

Having a little break from stitching atm (well that's the intention) so that I can crack on with sorting all these bloomin threads  I think I am about up to no. 300 in the Anchor ones atm so I am getting there albeit slowly. Running short of the cardboard bobbins and I have visited two local shops for some more and they are both out of stock so I looked on eB@y and couldn't get over how much they were (nearly £2 for a pack delivered) and I only paid 69p for the ones locally and it wasn't all that long ago so I think I will wait until they replenish their stocks.

Hopefully you all find some time to stitch over the weekend.

    Stay safe and warm everyone

    mines next week

mine's due - not looking forward to it but needs must. does it matter if you run your pill packets back to back as I always get confused about the best time in the month to go to the docs for the test so I was wondering whether I needed to have a couple of months of 21 days of pill and the 7 day break (repeat) before booking in?

I didn't mean for my first post back to be so off topic ! sorry !

How is everyone? I hope all are well and that you are keeping busy stitching.

Well that's January done with ! I've not found any time for stitching, lost the bug somewhat but hoping to find it again soon and get busy !
  • Hi,girls,
Not a lot happening this weekend,it's been a lovely day here, but there was a strange object in the sky,I think it's called the SUN! It's been out all day,I'd forgotten what it looked like, strong winds though.
Still plodding on with the alphabet Dino's,on the letter T,love doing the letters and dinosaurs but the borders are boring,
Have been looking at all your projects for inspiration but I am determined to finish all out standing projects before I start another,my resolution for this year,so keep me on the straight and narrow if you see me wondering off to buy new ones!,,
Hope every one is safe and the flooding isn't as bad as they say it will be,my heart goes out to those who are affected.x

As always I am impressed by what everyone is stitching. I am currently doing a sampler for my grandson, thought one of my DDs friends was doing one but she says no-one offered. I have decided to do a Winnie the Pooh one from a book I got in a really good sale someone posted on here ages ago. Thank you whoever it was! Must look back in the thread to check. I will post a picture when I manage to take a good one.
I'm hoping to pick your brains. It is my 50th birthday in a few months and my children have asked what I want. DH will no doubt be asking soon as well. I also have money that I was given for Christmas from parents and they will no doubt give me some for my birthday too. What I am wondering is which pieces of equipment do you have that you use a lot? And what do you regret buying because it was a waste of money? I am going to buy some new threads so not looking for them and I am never short of ideas for kits. I have a floor standing light which I love, but not a lot else. Any ideas?

BEG your tree looks beautiful, really neat and lovely.

FE, sorry not sure of answer to your question, probably best to ring and ask to speak to the practice nurse, she will be able to advise.

    hope all are well.

  • Great to "see" some familiar faces back in the Cafe :)

Louise . Looking forward to seeing the next row

beg . Love your tree. Will you frame it? It will be great when you have your threads organised. I don't have a full set of Anchor but I do have a lot so I was really surprised when I looked for the 3 colours for the Alphabet Blues chart I bought the other day I didn't have any of the them so it will be stitched in DMC

fe. hope you get your stitchy hug back soon

mrsceejay. I'm also trying to complete some UFOs this year as well as frame or otherwise display some completed pieces that have spent too long in a drawer

hippipal. I wouldn't be without my best scissors I have dressmaking shears, pinking shears and small embroidery scissors - all good quality and therefore not cheap but they have lasted for ages and make cutting so much easier. Of course the family know not to use them "on pain of death " :D
Have you got a nice sewing box for all your bits and pieces? I also use my R & R frames a lot ( as do lots of others on here)
Can you get to a craft show? It's a great day out and even better if you've got some cash to spend
WTP is lovely for birth samplers

I took 3 pieces to the framers this afternoon. ABC of stitching (UFO finished this year), Dictionary of Cakes (UFO finished Feb 2012) and a Paula Vaughan design which I can't recall when I finished it Intended to take Stitching Row (2014 project just finished) but I left it at my friend's last night :(. Will have to take it when I collect the others

Hope everyone is safe and dry and has some stitching time this weekend

    Hi all

Not been on for a couple of weeks but have been busy. I will pop a photo of my finished cards on here in a moment but I have also managed to complete a Ballet Bear for my neice who will be 5 in two weeks. I will post a photo of that one once I get it ironed, backed and framed (OH 't thinks we have a couple of frames in the attic that I bought for something and didn't use so he is going to see if any of them will fit.

Lovely pictures by everyone as always. Love the Dolly Mamma Emily and I have promised myself one once I have busted a lot of stash - maybe an xmas pressie:D.
