Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted anything much for a week or so. I do read everyday, just haven't found the time to post.
Settle down for a massive catch-up session(!):
nmm - BD coming along, although it's nice to break up your stitching with a bit of crochet. I do love a bit of crochet, it's very relaxing and methodical.
shelly - the garden is coming along great. Love the colours.
kezbabybabe - you will have the dictionary of tea finished in no time.
fos - love the wedding sampler. My BFF gets married in October but I know she wouldn't like a stitched piece to hang. Will go for a stitched card instead
Emily926 - the dolly mama design is coming along great. Any luck with finding a frame?
Maisie M - the cards look great. I've taken out a 3 for £3 subscription for cross stitch card shop. Not that I don't have enough designs as it is, but it was such a bargain.....:rotfl:
ERICS MUM - the cats design is really sweet but all those browns would drive me dolally
beg - love the tree design and it didn't take you long
mrs m-p - the titanic design is coming along nicely. Looks really good.
Well I think that's it (hopefully I didn't forget anyone, and if so I apologise)
I didn't do any stitching at the weekend but did some this afternoon whilst watching all of corrie's episodes from last week. Couldn't see through the tears - must get a grip. A friend lost her son a couple of weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about him, hence a rubbish nights sleep last night. Then with sweetcarers news...well it just makes you count your blessings and hug your nearest and dearest a little tighter.
Sorry for rambling on

Hi ladies.
Hippipal. I wouldn't be without my easy clip frame, posilock floor stand (holds the easy clip frame) and something they call a helping hand (holds the easy clip frame so the stitches don't get crushed when attaching to the posilock floor stand)
This is the frame and floor stand http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Posilock-Floor-Stand__ELB-POSI.aspx and this is the helping hand http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/HH12---Helping-Hand__ELB-HH12.aspx
I have various sizes of both easy clip frame and helping hand and don't know how I ever managed without them!
Also, a small item to have in your stash but I would be lost without is a needle threader. I try to get as many stitches out of a piece of thread as I can and without a needle threader I would throw alot more away than I do now. I buy cheaply in bulk from ebay as from experience expensive ones don't last any longer than cheap ones.
A pot of thread heaven in your stash is a handy thing to have now and then. I don't use mine much when using DMC or Anchor but with cheapie threads it's helpful to keep them running smoothly through your fabric. http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Thread-Heaven__THN-TH-DBW.aspx
Also I wouldn't want to be without my simple plastic re-sealable bags. When doing a project I use a small one for each colour, this keeps them clean and stops tangling with other colours. Then all the small ones go into a larger one to keep them altogether. These too were bought from ebay.
Last but definately not least.....Pilot Frixion pens. I love using these when marking my photocopied chart because if you mark the wrong bit you can rub it out and re-mark it. These pens can be quite expensive, usually £6-7 for 3 but I keep an eye out for half price offers in supermarkets.
Thanks for this. I think I will be asking for some of these!
Sweetcarer so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.0 -

I liked a pic someone posted recently (Maria I think) - a outline only of a couple, mainly black with a little bit of red. Think I have seen it on pinterest - will have to investigate further.

Is this the design you were after, I pinned it "just in case".

Hi ladies.
Fos. Wedding sampler is coming along great, look forward to more updates on it.
beg. Re thread heaven. Found a good vid on utube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GKz0typoW4 It's foreign and long winded but if you fast forward to 2.15 and watch until 2.40 that's the bit you need. (pull it through the gel, then pull gently through your fingers to get off any excess)
It shows how to use it better than I can explain
You can use it with all threads but it's supposed to be especially useful when using with metallics. I have some and find it really helps when using cheapie threads, as I'm currently stitching with DMC I haven't needed to use it for a while.
If you use it alot the top layer can become embedded with tiny fibers. Using a flat blunt knife, prise it carefully out of the pot, flip it over and it's good as new.
Hope that helps:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
:hello: Hello ladies,
Ended up here today by chance and felt compelled to post to say how sorry I am to hear sweetcarer's news and to let her know I'm thinking of her.
It's been agesI'm not sure when I last posted, possibly in the previous thread!
I'm afraid I lost my mojo for a while, and not just for stitching. I've generally had a crap time the last few months. I won't go into details, no point going over it all cause hopefully I'm on the way up again now and it's all behind me!
I'll be catching up on your posts over the next few days at home, as work blocks photobucket/flickr etc so I can't see any of your photosI'm so looking forward to seeing what you've been up to. I'm sure it'll give me lots of inspiration
