Have picked up blackwork angel, not done any on this for about a year.
Not seen the smaller of the 2 smokey grey kittens for a few days, so suspect something has happened there too. Wish mother stray cat would bring her kittens to me when small enough to be tamed and have them in the house to prevent this happening.

Coxy - That was a quick finish, very nice and the beading really sets it off
FOS - Love the stitching row, will look great framed :T
Sweetcarer - That's a very pretty journal cover. Hope you are okay (re. your setback) x
Tricksie - Your finishes look great, I especially like the little storage jars:T
43teabagsLouise - University - I did a OU introduction course. I can only say that you should be sure you can spend the time they say you need to on the course. I found it a challenge as I hadn't studied for a long time. But the tutor was brilliant and gave me loads of help. If you are keen on the subject, give it a go!
Thank you - I did!:j I start 'Introduction to Psychology' on the 1st March. I get the course free because it's my first one with the OU. The weekly class should hopefully keep my enthusiasm up.
JCS1 - Sorry to hear about the kitty, and hope the other 2 turn up soon. Such a shame
The blackwork angel is lovely, I haven't started mine yet. Keep getting distracted by so many things
After having a fantastic day on Wednesday, I just came crashing down on Thursday and had a really bad evening. I think all the stress of the last few months has finally caught up with me. The trigger was hubby clearing out my dads car which we have finally sold for my mum - he gave me a bag and it had my dads CD's and glasses in it and it just set me off
Feel a bit better today though, eldest has a friend coming over so have been busy cleaning and cooking this morning.
Stitching might happen later.......a magazine has just been delivered so I'm going to see which one it is and have a cuppa.

Hi ladies.
I feel like I need to ask to re-join the Cafe since I haven't posted in ages
I do read everyday, just haven't been posting, that's my new year resolution broken already
Everyone's WIP's and finishes are brilliant, love them all.
My Rose Garden is coming along slowly but surely. Didn't pick up my needle at all over the xmas hols but have been doing a bit since then.
shelly x:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
JCS, i loved doing my angel, but if you remember i cut my fabric too small so had to make do without the lovely intricate border -which did mean mine was finished rather quicker.
shelly nice to see you back in.
Louise, supporting hugs for you. it hard when things like that seem to come a bite you on the bum. take care of yourself you are bound to feel upset.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi all,
sweetcarer - the journal cover is lovely. I hope you are having a better day today x
tricksie - love the labels for your jars. You have been really busy!
JCS1 - so sorry about your kitty (((hugs))) I love the blackwork angel although the metallic thread would drive me insane
Shelly - hello!!
mrs-moneypenny - Titanic is coming on great
I have started a new project called 'The stockings were hung'. It's a Dimensions Gold kit I saw in a show window in Bruges. They wanted 33 Euros for it, but I got it from fleabay USA for £8 delivered :money: It's great to start something new, but the design has couching, couching with fringe, lazy daisy, French knots and back stitch. There is also a large area of half cross stitch using 3 strands of black. Not looking forward to that bit :rotfl:
Will post a pic once I've done a little more - cream stitches on cream aida does not a pretty picture make.
Thank you Louise for the review of World of Cross Stitch. I too did a review of this month's Cross Stitch Crazy - it's on the same thread if anyone's interested.
Have a great evening all

Good morning cross stitchers
A bit if advice please
I have decided to start a wedding sampler next (while continuing to work on some UFOs) as apart from some Christmas themed designs for our house this is the only planned project isthmus a deadline so far this year. It' sneezed for August but I have to allow for getting it framed and getting it to the couple so early July is the deadline for finishing the stitching and we're already almost at the end of Jan. How did that happen? It was only 5 mins ago I was writing Christmas cards
Anyway this is the design I've chosen
http://www.historicalsamplercompany.co.uk/shop/i-do-wedding-sampler/
I'm going to do it on some "vintage marbled" linen but I'm thinking thaT I don't particularly like the names and date added at the bottom. Looks like an after thought to me. So I was considering replacing Bride and Groom in the middle with the couple's names and putting the date instead of good luck at the bottom of the heart. Any views would be welcomed0 -
43teabags. Which LK design have you chosen? I love her designs
Emily. Looking forward to regular updates about you and the expected new arrival
Cancelling the dd can be done at any time during the course of the sub and you will still get your 5 issues
tricksie . Hope you enjoy the show and let us know what you bought
jcs. I remember this black work design from when mrs pm did it. It's lovely and you've made a good start
Louise . Sorry to hear you had a bad day. I'm sure everyone who has lost someone close will recognise that sudden feeling which can be triggered by the smallest of things. It's that horrible reminder if what we've lost and will never have again
Thanks for doing the mag review. I love reading these and should make the effort to do more myself
Shelly. Welcome back
coxy. Your stocking sounds beautiful and you've got lots of time to complete it. Thanks for doing the mag reviews
mrsmp. Titanic mark 2 is looking great
Hope everyone has a good weekend with some stitching time0 -
