  • As much as I would love to, there won't be enough time to get any completed. :o It's funny cos I would be the one to do a sampler for best friends, but don't have anyone that cross-stitches to do one for me! So will end up doing one of my own, one day.

Mine is very wide, so there is a gap on either side of the fabric, however this doesn't cause an issue with the tension. I opted for a much wider frame, so that it was flexible moving forward, as my previous frame needed to have the fabric folded over all the time and it was difficult to get the tension fully.

    Sunday Update:
All the cross-stitching done for Oddit-tea, hoping to get the back-stitching done tonight, but Dancing on Ice is being distracting...

Maria - thanks I'll have a look at them. Just going through the numbers I'm missing to see what they are. If they are very similar to colours I already have I might not bother getting them. I'm also checking the Anchor colours I have in case any of these equate to the missing DMC ones.

EMs - I like the Vintage Bothy Threads design, looking forward to the update pictures.

Kez - Love your Dictionary of Tea. I really like these designs and find they also make lovely small designs for cards. Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. You could always plan a design for your 1st Anniversary!!

    Second anniversary is cotton...;)

I've still not finished my engagement sampler and we've been married almost 12 years!

I only ever use this company, the threads come pre-loaded on cards not as a skein.

I ordered 28 threads on 22 Dec and they turned up on xmas eve!!

I have 3 boxes full of thread but I have so many duplicates it's unreal, not quite sure why I have so many. I need 150 colours to make a full set   Can anyone recommend someone cheap and reliable to get them from please.

I have been using Cross Stitch Heaven, 39p each, no minimum order but it takes about a week for thread delivery :)

what a shame, I've just got back from Florida where DMC are less than 20 pence each - I could have got your 150 for £30.

  • pm - lovely Elvis :T

kezbabybabe - tea is looking great too :T

ems - looking forward to seeing updates of Vintage. Hows gran and grandad coming along?

Ailsb - I'm on a mission to sort my threads this year too. Will probably have loads of duplicates too.

No stitching here since New Years Day - lost a little bit of mojo I think. Got it out yesterday, then DH brought me a lovely hot chocolate and I thought stitching and hot chocolate don't make a good combination. :D

Might try and take a pic later to show you how far I have got with Family Tree.

    Take care everyone,

    Hi everyone,

I've been reading along but haven't posted for a few days.

fos - Love the coasters - such a good idea. Where do you buy the coasters - HC?

kezbabybabe - Dictionary of Tea is so colourful. Love it.

pm - Liking the look of Elvis :)

ems - I was tempted with the Vintage design - for DD - managed to resist tho' - too much else on my list lol

Took DD and DS2 to the leisure centre on Friday and they had 3 hours in the pool/flumes. Meant I could sit in the caf! and stitch away to my hearts content. Lots of interested looks from folks sitting bored with their coffee :rotfl:

Unfortunately, despite being really 'squeaky' with my thread, I have run out of a green which makes up the 'band' around the sampler and encircles the initials and date. Really annoyed but at least I know HC sell DMC (unfortunately I don't have that particular colour in my stash - typical!!). I am picking up an order from M&S tomorrow and HC is opposite so will pop in then. Still other areas to stitch so hoping I may finish the design this week :T:j

Next design will be one with beads - excited!!
