That one looks lovely - where is it from?

Happy New Year to everyone, we had family over till 4am on New years morning, a good time was had by all then everyone was round to my mums for the traditional home made soup and steak pie dinner that we have every year on the first :)

I have been working away on a stitching sampler in the evenings since I last posted - it's coming along nicely.

I haven't bought ANYTHING in the sales, stash or otherwise  There are some DMC threads I need and I need more white aida and evenweave but I'm not in a mad rush for any of them.

Spent this evening taking down all the decorations. My little girl stood in front of the tree with her arms outstretched to block it and said that we really need to keep it up longer!!:rotfl:

I took this image from The Craft Department site but I found it here at almost half price. Have never used this site so can't recommend them but it's a good offer.

I have this lamp next to my sewing machine and the light is great. I have a different craft lamp next to the sofa where I do most of my xs - I can't stitch at this time of year without a proper light and a magnifier

When you need to replenish your stock of aida and evenweave you might want to have a look at the sewitall site http://sewitall.com/

They sell evenweave and aida in different counts and colours and most of it is available with silver sparkles as an option. Delivery is free if you spend £25 plus you get a free metre length of fabric. I really like their clearance packs which have a variety of offcuts which are ideal for small pieces. I know it's irrational but I don't like cutting up a large piece of fabric for small projects. I like some of their printed fabrics as well (hearts, snowflakes, music, paws etc) and I've always been pleased with the quality.

I will be taking down the decorations this weekend. So cute that your daughter didn't want to see the tree go
  • sweetcarer love your 2013 calendars and thanks for the link to the 2014 design. Hope the journal is helpful again.

coxy your sampler is looking lovely and you have made great progress

mrsmp thanks for the comment - i haven't resolved to quit buying stash completely, just use and finish more of what I already have and be really selective about what I do buy. I saw these red hearts hangers in one of the magazines last year and thought they would be ideal so decided to buy now as I would be really upset if they sold out. It's a project I love so I know I will finish it for display next Christmas and having the hanger will be even more of an incentive.

Hope everyone keeps safe and dry in this dreadful weather

mine gets added to as and when i see a bargain, but ive got more than enough to work through anyway so shouldnt really need any more. But stitching is more of a want than a need thing anyway isnt it.

    Hello girls,

Last day of leave for a while, so enjoying it doing some stitching on the learning sampler - was going to start my 2014 sampler but printer is giving me problems - will give it kick later.

Hubby last night did a picture of all four seasons together - now to find 4 frames.

I haven't bought anything in the sales - keeping what money we have for the house (hubby bought a PS3 with the money we got for Christmas and I gave in) - but I have some overtime coming up at end of January so might get some material - that is a very good offer in sew it all - have bought from them in the past.

    Keep well,

    sweetcarer ;)

Funnily enough, I spotted that offer today too. Someone at my cross stitch group was asking about pale blue Aida. I said I'd check my stash as I'm pretty sure I have some, but she wanted a large piece, so we looked online and I found some on the sew it all site. With the free p+p and Aida offer, it's a great deal if you need to buy over £25 worth of stash.

They look absolutely fantastic!!! :T Please post another pic when you frame them too. Very nice work.

Still trying to warm up. It's cold and windy out there today. Went to the gym and for a swim after cross stitch. Need to keep up this behaving lark (she says while scoffing a Lindt choc!)
Was supposed to be learning crochet today, but the lady wasn't at the class, so maybe next week.

  • Sweetcarer - love the 2013 stitches. Thanks for the link for 2014. Four seasons samplers look fantastic. Looking forward to seeing them framed.

Coxy - sampler is gorgeous. Love the colours.

fos - heart hanger looks so sweet. Had a quick peek at Sew It All but I am passing this time (not being tempted even though it is a brilliant offer) :D

No stitching here today but I have been busy decluttering (mainly paperwork) atm.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
