Happy new year everyone, no stitching planned for today as i'm just catching up with other bits and working on budgets and meal planning etc, not exciting needs to be done. Plus the weather is so horrible, dark, wet and windy so not the best light to stitch in. I really need to find a good daylight lamp this year. A few years ago i had a beautiful tall brass one that had an antique feel to it but DS1 managed to break it in such a way that it was unfixable and can't find another like it or even similar. I'm not a huge fan of the white plastic type ones that i tend to see everywhere.

    Hello girls,

    HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Will do a catch up later properly - making new years dinner ready to take down to my parents - they have table and chairs and mum doesn't like leaving the house - so compromise I still make dinner but take it to them (I make new year dinner every year since I left home).

Ok as I didn't get on yesterday - finishing off my autumn sampler and I did finish my blue sampler (the one I do at work - but have left it there - not back till Monday - doh!).

So here is my autumn sampler for all of you to enjoy - will get hubby to take a group picture later for you - my camera (the old one) is not as good as his (the new one).

New years resolution - to do more stitching lol and also keep a journal again - it helped with my downs before, so it might help again.

Keep well, catch you all soon.

  • Sounds like you've made a good start for 2014 Do share who the boyband is. Sounds really exciting

It' such a shame that so many people don't understand the deferment between clinical depression which is a real illness and the " having a bad day " feeling that everyone experiences occasionally. And lack of self confide is really debilitating

Hope your list of 5 things to do each day includes simple things like checking in here and replying to a post or 2 :)

It's the Backstreet Boys. Been a fan for 20 years now, but i have never met them. Tbh i'm very nervous, since i have trouble talking to normal people, let alone celebrities!

Just remember they ARE just normal people. Anyone recall the pop duo Gemini from the mid 90s? I hung out with them for an hour or so at a theme park. We went go karting and had ice cream. Just normal. No starstruck stuff. Just keep reminding yourself there's nothing to be nervous about.

Had a quiet New Year's Eve last night. Chinese, DVD and watched the fireworks on TV. Not done a great deal today either. Cooked breakfast, put away a bit of Christmas stuff and have been doing bike insurance quotes online. I HATE doing that every year. It stresses me out so much and I have no idea why.

Well, this year I am determined to get stitching again. Not sure what to start with, but within the next week, I shall pick up a needle again!

Hope 2014 is a great year for us all. :)

  • I know that lots of us are trying to cut back on buying stash but just thought I would mention that Sewandso sale has started. Includes quite a few Bothy Threads kits including some cut-thrus and Dictionary designs.

At this time of year I can't stitch without my craft lamp and magnifier.

Is this the type of thing you had in mind?
