    Afternoon ladies

Hope you all had a good xmas.

Santa brought the frame I asked for so now I can do a HAED.

I got the material on ebay a few month ago, it was a bargain 18 HPI 41' x 41' for £5.50..the seller noted that it had marks on and I think that put people off bidding. I thought it would be ok as the HAED would cover any marks anyway...turns out it was only 3 tiny little marks about the size of a pin head each!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Anyhow, I washed it last night as it was creased badly and I ironed it this morning. It's now on the frame waiting patiently while I print off all 36 pages :eek:of the chart. I'll get all the threads together later and maybe consider starting tonight or tomorrow!

By the way it's this one:

Now the fun starts as I'm also doing Elvis as a surprise for my mum. I was hoping to get him done for her birthday in April but I doubt it's going to happen as there's a lot of confetti stitching so it's probably going to be part of her xmas present next year.

But now she'll expect to see progress on my HAED when she visits every other saturday so I need to work out how to do this, at the minute I'm thinking I could stitch Elvis one night, HAED the next and then back to Elvis the next night etc or maybe one week stitch Elvis, the next week stitch the HAED (HAED would be done the week she's due to visit)....decisions, decisions!

Fabulous design. I would alternate by the day but either plan should work. It will be s lovely surprise,
  • Bought a fat quarter of evenweave and this is one of my purchases -

and then last night I 'accidentally' bought this.

Seriously there will have to be a ban on any further stitchy purchases for the next 12 months I am really running short on wall space. :o

Thanks for sharing. Both are lovely designs. Heather the designer of the sampler runs Choices and I've bought loads of things from her at various stitching shows over the past years ( don't like to think about how many years :D )

I've tried taking an update photo of Elvis but the light is all wrong so I'll try again on wednesday when I'm off as I need natural day light.

    Hi all

I have been admiring all the gifts and purchases. Some really lovely designs. Looks like everyone is going to busy next year.

Have now completed two thank you cards and am now half way through the third. Need to do another three before 6th January when I go back to work as they are for people from work who bought me Christmas presents which I did not expect at all.

  • Evening all, not posted since Xmas eve, loving all the kits / charts people have been linking to. Have just spent half an hour searching through old magazines for a chart I know i have for a new home card but I can't find it anywhere so I have settled on another, as it needs to go in the post at the latest Tuesday! So I need to get a wiggle on!

Didn't get any cross stitch pressies but I did get £50 worth of vouchers for h/craft and £60 cash. I brought a new hand bag and purse but don't know what else I want!

Off now to get cracking on this card

    Love to all x

    Hi everyone,

Loving the updates. Did the people who received charts/kits specify the ones they liked or did your nearest and dearest pick them themselves? Wouldn't trust DH to choose stuff for me, he's colour blind for one thing, dread to think what he would pick lol!

    JCS1 - have pm'd you :)

Just finished my last shift at my Christmas job. Feet up, drink in hand. Hopefully will do some more of the sampler tomorrow and post an updated pic.

    Have a good evening all.

Oops, showed picture to my mother, got a "that's not nice, you can't stitch that", so I put a bid on to wind her up and won it

Not sure whether to keep it or try and sell it on
