Evening everyone
Haven't posted much as been trying to get rid of that damn cold...think it's departed for now.
Loving the updates, especially yours mags_cat as I've loved that design since you started it. My dad has a newspaper clipping of a very similar design and its mind boggling..might try to find it on the internet one day and get it charted.
Panda is with the framers and should be ready next week...not sure where he's going but I'm sure I'll find a spot.
Started Elvis while I was poorly, there's not much to see apart from a black border as there's lots of confetti stitching at the minute so no update pics yet, will do one when I finish the 1st page.
I've started the design in the top left hand corner which I've never done before and it seems to have worked out ok, triple checked my counting before starting :rotfl:. But I also tried to grid it and try doing one block at a time but it's not working for me, I find it slower so I'm going back to my old ways.0 -

I wouldn't be nearly so far on with the HAED if it wasn't for the pre-gridded fabric! I know other people have had trouble with it, but I think if your stitching covers the whole fabric it's a real boon.
I tested a couple of pieces of the magic aida with small designs before I started the huge piece. I stitched them, then soaked them in cold water. The lines took much longer to dissolve than the water soluble pen I had used before that - that just melted away in cold water - but they did eventually disappear. With the time that this huge piece of fabric has been in use, you can see that the light is fading the gridlines anyway. I just hope I can get it finished before they all vanish :rotfl:0 -
Hi ladies.

Louise. The framed names are beautiful! Love the little heart framed pics.
Maria. Love all your finishes, they are great.
JCS. Very nice update.
Mags. Nice update. Though I have to ask, what's wrong with the last row?
MOS. Lovely decorations, really cute.
PM. Look forward to seeing Panda framed when you get it back.
As for me. Not much stitching done at all in the last few days but yesterday I really fancied doing some. Got one length of thread stitched then my needle snapped at the eye!
Went through all my spare needles and even went through stash kits to look at their needles but I haven't got a spare one thin enough!
Usually stitch on 14 ct but I think this kit is 16 or 18 ct so all my needles are too fat (making too big holes in the fabric)
Had a quick look online last night and they are cheap enough, less than £2 for 10 so going to order both size 26 and 28.
So for now stitching has had to go away:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I meant the last row of 10x10 squares (although on this page it's only 10x7, the other 3 are on the next page down).
It's not finished - gaps all over it! I said I was going to finish it before I took the photo. At least you got the photo :rotfl:0 -
morning all
just finished doing the gold on the card, really pleased to see the back of it i used a card of gold from my stash it was the most horrible stuff ive ever stitched with really snaggy and scratchy, glad i used the whole card up so i can say ive seen the back of it. just have the black BABS to do now.
its isnt however going to be given to my class teacher, was sitting stitching and DH asked who it was for. i told him and he sort of pulled a face and said but you said she was Muslim didn't you? so i dont think shell really appreciate a nativity scene card DOH! glad he said before i gave it her, it just never entered my head. ive asked at school and while she joins in our celebration at school she doesnt take any cards home so it really would be a waste i think ill just buy her some chocs and perhaps stitch her a plaque or something for her class at another time.SPC~12 ot 124

Ohhhh I get it now
Have just ordered new needles, couldn't decide between gold plated or nickel plated so ordered both.
Off topic of stitching I have also ordered a vertical mouse. Whoever knew such a thing existed?!
I saw one on Grand Designs last week, wondered what on earth it was, googled, found them and decided I needed one!
I actually do suffer wrist pain when using my mouse so hopefully the new vertical one will help (apparently that's what they are designed for):heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
