Louise - the names are lovely and I am sure the final recipients will be delighted with them. The two wee hearts are so cute as well. I am off to Hobbycraft later so may keep an eye out for some bargins for next years pressies.
MOS - the window quilt looks really pretty and it will cut down on the heat loss significantly.
Maria - hope the tea towels survive. It's so horrible when things like that happen as there is so much cleaning up plus you loose the food you were making, it's like a double whammy. Your stockings, snowmen and the numbers for your daughter's advent are lovely. I really like the house for your mum, it's such a lovely sentiment.
Finished my exchange last night so pleased about that just to put it together now. Then to start making bits for the boys xmas stockings. I have done the names but DS1 decided instead of an all over pattern he wanted different motif's to be put on almost in a patchwork effect so I am not sure whether to do them all this year or to do one a year and build them up (each having the year I stitched them on it).
Really need to get some housework done today but also need to nip to Hobbycraft for a couple of bits - think Hobbycraft will win lol.0 -
Maria, your recent makes are absolutely lovely, especially love the stockings.
I tried to start som cross stitch last night, by 7pm the house was empty except me so I did a few odd jobs first and settled down to do some stitching at 9pm. 9.30pm DH rings and says the remote unlocking system won't work for my car and he can't open it with the key otherwise the alarm will go off so can I take him the spare key (can't moan really as he had been as work since 6am yesterday), on the way there DD rings and says her and boyfriend can't find their was too the cinema so can I pick them up. I inform them that is have to collect DH first and they get huffy and say don't worry we will find it!
So, I head home, pick up my stitching......DD rings and says they have given up trying to walk to the cinema as her feet are killing her so can I go and collect her!
Virtually no stitching done for me last night.
Hoping today is going to be better for stitching as I am going to prep all the veg for dinner now and then settle down to whatever rubbish I can find on the tv and stitch myself silly! :rotfl:0 -

Just reading about your catastrophe reminds me of my own, never try to cook rhubarb in a pressure cooker! When the pressure built up instead of steam coming out.rhubarb shot out instead,
the kitchen was covered, the walls, the ceiling everywhere,it took me hours to clean in off,in fact we later ended up painting the ceilling because it had stuck like glue,so I had a patterned ceiling.
My little peacock is growing, photo to follow, but my computer is playing silly devils so it might not happen.
Have a good day x0 -
Thanks everyone, feel a bit calmer about it his morning lol.13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

maria sorry to hear your soup disaster, hope its all cleaned up now
mos window quilt looks lovely
your name stitches and little pictures look lovely well done on getting them all finished
love the poppy card on the previous page BEG, i started that in the summer, but used the wrong coloured thread so its a wip awaiting some more threads to be sorted for it to be finished. i mistakenly used the very dark backstitch red (almost burgundy) instead of the bright poppy red so goig to adapt it as a mauvy purple poppy i think.
maria all those stockings look fabulous
finished the plaque for DD1, i slipped it into a bag of christmas shopping she had with her yesterday so hopefully shell have a nice surprise when she finds it. i did take a photo ill post it tomorrow
started a card for my class teacher at school last night. as i havent got enough other things on the go LOL

Louise - love the name and heart pics. I'm sure the recipient will be delighted with them - I know I would. Heart frames were really good value. We haven't got a Hobbycraft nearby so I don't get to have a mooch around very often.
mos - window quilt looks gorgeous. What a great idea :T
maria - great finishes too :T
Maisie - hope you had a worthwhile trip to HC and that you got all you went for.
Rudolph now has bs and french knots - just needs making up. Thinking of putting stitching to one side for a while so that I can read Philomena (that's until my fingers get twitchy) :rotfl: I'm finding there just aren't enough hours in the day atm.
I have decided that whatever xmas cards I've done will have to do.
Will still be popping in each day to make sure you are all behaving yourselves
Take care everyone,

Mrs MP - the toolbox looks great and I am sure your daughter will love it. Good luck with the BMW logo. Is the book you have by anyone famous - it kind of sounds like that sort of thing?
its called the house we grew up in by lisa jewell, its one that covers three areas of time to explain how a family that seem to have an idylic childhood get torn apart and end up not speaking as adults. its perhaps not a book i would have choosen but im really enjoying it, dont want to say too much about the story and spoil it incase anyone else wants to read it.SPC~12 ot 124
