  • lovely MOS - I think that's the one I've packed to take with me :)

It was lovely to stitch and didn't take too long, even the dreaded back stitch wasn't a problem.

Damn! Mis-counted somewhere and am one square out. Luckily it's in folds of dress so I'm sure I can cover it up ;)

    hi everyone,

not posted for a few days, Mum's in hospital with suspected pulmonary embolism and a touch of pneumonia which at age 89 is scarey. Absolutely no idea how treatable (or otherwise) it will be.

My sister is visiting today as Mum can only tolerate an hour or so, I'll go tomorrow. I just can't settle to do any stitching, but gardening relaxes me a bit.

Anyway it's so nice and cheery to see all your work and your plans - especially that Venice work of art !

    Speak to you soon

Sorry I've not posted for nearly a week, I have kept up to date kind of, I've still been stitching and making good progress

This morning I've had some devastating news that a good friend has passed away very suddenly and was found at his home this morning at the age of 37. I've known him about 12 years and now his little girl is in the same class as my son. I'm absolutely gutted

Sorry to read about the upsets. Hope your mum feels better soon Erics Mum and I am so sorry for your loss winniepooh - so young.

I have been a designer mood for my last square for Sandy Hook - taking ideas from all over the place and to tie in with my favourite stitching - samplers and blackwork.

So it will look something like this - the alphabet and a set of numbers at top, below it a blackwork butterfly (one from a set that was given away to members in blackwork FB page and the one that won a vote I had on it), then below it, at bottom, some text - Sandy Hook Elementary, the quote I used (that hubby devised) on the heart and then my signature strip.

For the alphabet I will use the colours I used in the hearts, the butterfly in the same colour as the teddy and the text the colours used in the heart flag apart from white.

Hubby thinks it sounds ok - what do you think. Will start it later after I have been to the shop - forgot to get a light bulb last night - so we have no light in living room. Still in my goonie on, but been busy sorting things, its our 6th wedding anniversery today.

Keep well everyone - catch you later

Finished! And here's the photo of the Great Wall:

    http://www.50ayear.com/the-hobbies/

I will probably get it framed quite soon, but I haven't decided where to hang it yet - we have a big empty wall in our living room so it'll probably go up there!

Louise The fairy godmother is lovely!

winniepooh I'm very sorry for your loss - I wish you all the best

Ericsmum I really hope your mum feels better soon

  • Hello everyone.
I've been lurking on this thread for a while and i've finally came round to posting :D
    A little bit about myself:
    i'm Samantha, i'm 21 and i'm into everything crafty :)
I have started making my own cards, sock monkeys, taught myself to crotchet and started to cross stitch after my Mam cross stitched my 21st birthday card.
I've recently made a 25th wedding anniversary card for my Mam and Dad so will post that soon,
    Samantha x
