  • Louise. Great idea to use marbled blue aida :D. You have a day to recover before Sunday's final

JCS. Agree with your comments about AM. Did you see his Mum talking about waiting outside the school not knowing if either of her boys were ok ?
Love the sampler but having bought a LK chart this month I am hoping to resist all other temptation. The motifs on this kit could be used for cards and sewing accessories such as pincushions and scissor fobs as well as a whole piece

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for the welcome :) I will post a pic up later once I've worked out how :o:o

I managed to watch the first set of the tennis, drop DS1 at cub camp, drop DD at Guides, go out for a quick drink and starter course with school mums, then back home for the final set!!! Can't wait for tomorrow's final - GO ANDY!!

JCS1 - LOVE bothy threads kits, not that I've done any....yet.... Want to get the cut thru haberdashery shop for my Mum. She is also a keen stitcher, knitter, crocheter (is that even a word?) and her spare room/loft are just like a shop - can't resist a bargain. I've never made her anything and would love to have this done and framed for her one day. Also love the Love Heart kit and the Vintage kit. So many to choose from (must resist, must resist...)

Hope to get some stitching done tonight as only DD here this weekend. Must get some gardening done first tho'.

    Have a great day everyone.

Sorry I've not posted for nearly a week, I have kept up to date kind of, I've still been stitching and making good progress

This morning I've had some devastating news that a good friend has passed away very suddenly and was found at his home this morning at the age of 37. I've known him about 12 years and now his little girl is in the same class as my son. I'm absolutely gutted
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

    UURRGGGHHHHHH it's tooooooooooooooooooooo hot!!!!

I went up to Hobbycraft and didn't see anything that grabbed my attention - a couple of nice christmas kits (that i can probably find half the price on t'internet). even 'dictionary of cakes' didn't make it's way into my basket.
So I went thro my stash box and found 2 small mouseloft kits and a bookmark kit that I am taking away..... tho i probably won't get any done.

erics_mum - I hope your mum makes a full recovery.

lovely makes Louise - metallic stitch is bad enough without it being lettering - very neat tho.

ha JCS1 - good try but no. I will NOT click the link, well maybe I will, but I won't buy anything.

shocking news winniepooh. hope you are all ok.

    fab LindseyandMatthew - that's dedication.

all packed (mine and the kids, and sandwiches made) so might try and do some more London Underground if i can cool down enough. can't remember who asked it is 18.6x13.8" (on 18-count aida) - 335x248 stitches.

Been a really hot day here, don't want to complain but do have to say I prefer cold weather, at least you can layer up then :rotfl:

I decided it was too hot to sit out in the garden and wanted a small project to do whilst finishing off the wolves so made this bookmark for my eldest DD. it came free with a magazine and was supposed to say for a special Mum but seeing as mine is no longer with us I thought my DD would love it. She is only 17 but absolutely loves it, I got a great big hug and a 'mummy bear, you are the best'! :j. She always calls me 'mummy bear' as if they do anything that might make me cross, I say 'do you REALLY want to wake that bear' :D

It read...Jo, made with love Mum xx

    Hello girls.

Just popping in to apologise for not being around for ages. I have totally lost my stitching mojo and haven't caught up on the posts. Still on the old thread (about 8 weeks behind!) but will work on reading back when I get time. Have been really busy the past few weeks and now I think I'm coming down with something too. Have a sore throat and a cough. I really hope it won't turn into another chest infection.
Hope everyone is ok and I'll work on reading back and seeing what you've all been up to.
