    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say that your thread has inspired me to pick up my x-stitching again after months of doing nothing!

I'm currently working on French Flower Shop by a company called Sunset. I have to say that in all my 20 odd years of stitching I have never dreaded stitching so much! The chart (2 pages) is so busy and if it weren't for the fact that it's about 2/3rds completed I would seriously give up!!! I am determined however to continue and complete the piece because it will look lovely when (when) it's finished and framed!

Loving all the photos of your work :)

    Coxy

    Welcome to the cafe :hello:

Would love to see a photo of your WiP

We are very good at encouraging each other to finish projects here :D

Now I can go to bed.

    Kind wishes to all

So appropriate to finish it on 4th July - have you thought about adding the date?

    Morning Ladies

Just a quick pop in before all chaos starts. Got shopping to do this morning and then its decorating (lounge/dining room) classed as one room but really its two. Not had much time to catch up with posts as any free time I've had I have tried to spend on Sleeping Beauty. Sorry I didn't post a pic at the end of page 7 but you will have to wait now until page 8 is complete as I only like to post pics of completed pages - perhaps this is one of the funny little things I do :o:p.

Make the most of this lovely weather as this is probably our summer. Enjoy the tennis if thats your thing - I'm not really bothered about it but I must admit I am starting to warm to Andy.

Looking forward to catching up with you all soon. Just got a glimpse of your heart sweetcarer and I think it looks brilliant and is so appropriate.

    Take care everyone

PS Forgot to add - page 8 is the final one of Sleeping Beauty. :j:j:j

Another one with quirks around stitching :rotfl:

It will be wonderful to see SB finished

I just wanted to say that you have inspired me to go back to cross-stitching. I have a WIP that I've been working on (very) intermittently for the last 20 years - so it's about time I finished it. Although I followed some of your links and have bought two new kits. Maybe that's why it's taken me so long to finish my other one!

Does anyone have a longer standing WIP? Can anyone top 20 years?

Probably I have as I have been stitching for longer than 20 years but I'm in denial so I'm not going to think about long standing WiPs for too long :D

Can you share a photo of your WiP?

    hey everyone!

I haven't updated in AGES, but just wanted to let you know that the Great Wall has come on leaps and bounds - should be putting the final stitches in tonight! So I'll post a picture when it's done :)
Then I'll be making a start on my next project, this one:
    http://www.thehappycross-stitcher.com/product.php?xProd=12453
It's slightly smaller than the great wall, but still a bit of a monster!

sweetcarer That Sandy Hook square is just lovely :)

Well done on (almost) finishing the Great Wall. Are you going to get it framed?

I love the Venice scene and can't wait to see your progress

    hi everyone,

not posted for a few days, Mum's in hospital with suspected pulmonary embolism and a touch of pneumonia which at age 89 is scarey. Absolutely no idea how treatable (or otherwise) it will be.

My sister is visiting today as Mum can only tolerate an hour or so, I'll go tomorrow. I just can't settle to do any stitching, but gardening relaxes me a bit.

Anyway it's so nice and cheery to see all your work and your plans - especially that Venice work of art !

    Speak to you soon

Erics Mum - sorry to hear about yourMum, hope she rallies soon.

Mrs MP - goodnews about your reply and so quickly too. It restores your faith in a company when they respond so positively and so quickly.

Maria - it goes without saying that your Boo pictures are lovely. If I had a girl to stitch for I think they would make my "to do" list.

Gildius - looking forward to seeing the Great Wall finished. Have you got somewhere to display it? Venice is another huge task but after the wall it will seem small to you.

Sweetcarer - your heart is lovely, glad you got it finished yesterday.

Doubt if I'll do any stitching today. So far ive stained my garden furniture, taken Dad to have the strap on his watch webought him for his 80th made smaller, taken dad to opticians and done some gardening. Having family around for a bbq later so apologies to all if it rains later. Oh also nearly forgot to say i've finished reading my book (was at 62%) this morning and pva'd some fossils. I didn't think id done much today but seeing the list I think ive done ok.

Take care all and in case I dont get chance later or over the weekend hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.

Flinging these up before I head round to my mums to watch the Murray match. Will catch up on posts tonight :)

This is what I have been doing for the past month:

This is one of a set of 3 (A, T and S) I made for my DD and her two best friends to commemorate the end of their first year at primary.

    July2013163_zps48153a13.jpg

I designed and stitched this for a friend who is moving home. The family is Irish so I thought it would be perfect for them:

This is JE's Fairy Godmother which was in a recent issue of WOXS. I loved stitching her, the only bit I didn't like was the backstitch writing in metallic but that didn't take too long.

Unusually for me, I even made an effort to keep the back neat:
