hope the headache clears and tonight goes well Louise

im making up a cross stitch pack for my friends DD from some spare stash - just a few skeins of thread, some adia and a book of charts but her mum says shes keen to take up the hobby but its too expensive if shes not going to keep it up. cant resist not giving someone the chance to enjoy it so am making her a starter pack.
will 12 different colours, and a few different hpi pieces of adia (ive not gone too small) along with a hoop and a book be ok do you think?
better add some needle as well i suppose or she wont get far!
You have probably done this but I would make sure I put the correct threads in for the patterns you have included. My first attempts at cross stitch were cards, because they are simple enough to not get discouraged, but enough to get addicted.

Sorry I have not been posting for the last few days. My eagle is going well but very slow. I am quite happy with the progress because I am enjoying doing it and not bothered how long it takes.
On another matter, I have been distracted because my DD gave birth to my first grandchild (a boy) on Monday lunchtime. Everything was quite difficult and it will take her a while to recover, but they will both be fine. We are very excited, especially DD2 who is over the moon to be an auntie. I think I might be too busy to do much stitching for a while!
  • Hippipal - Congratulations to you all on the arrival of the little one. :T Will a birth sampler be appearing on the 'to do' list. :D

Halloween Disco went well :D Got two more Halloween parties tomorrow for junior and senior primary school classes and that's it finally done until the Christmas parties all come round :rotfl:

Just watching the final episode of Wentworth, too tired to concentrate on stitching :(

Louise have a look at this Joan Elliott round robin piece which I think is similar in some ways to what you are planning - it's lovely and very inspiring

It is lovely isn't it, and a great layout - I haven't thought too much about my layout yet, I planned to stitch a border frame for each of mine so the pics didn't just cut off into nothing but undecided as yet

    Hi ladies.

Thanks for the lovely comments on my stitching :)

MrsCeejay. The dinosaurs are so cute, really like them. The Snow Leopard is just stunning!

Mrsmp. Lovely Tinman! I wish I had the confidence to do 3D stuff like that.

Nmm. Nice update. Can't wait to see the face appear.

MOS. Very nice stocking update, really like it.
My design is a DMC kit from the Signature range(?) Only thing I can find online about it is here http://www.needlecraft.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=2817&PHPSESSID=
    I bought mine from ebay.

Hippipal. Congrats to you all on the birth of the new baby! :j
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Hi,mrs-moneypenny
It's not my dd who has had the baby,no chance, she has the wonder lust too much to think about babies.thats why she is in Australia!
It's hipipal whose dd has had the baby. X
  • Not much stitching for me yesterday as DD's needed chauffeuring about all over the place

DH came home last night and after 5 weeks of multi drop driving they have asked him to become a supervisor, ok still temporary but a great moral boost for him. He will be out from 12.30 - 9.30pm 5 days a week so that will give me evenings to stitch.

Both girls are at home today and one of them is trying to persuade me to walk with her for 20 mins, ME isn't too bad today so might chance it (could well pay for it later tho!) but I can always sit and stitch whilst I rest :D

Congratulations on the birth of your Grandchild Hipipal.
