I wouldn't buy it on DVD either, but I don't tend to do that with a series which I have watched on tv anyway. I wish more were like American series where they have around 25 episodes each but it's still better than some UK ones which can be as few as 6 parts

    Hello girls,

Hope all are well. Feels like ages since I have been on. I have a wee day off work - so plan to start my Christmas card/ornament exchange piece.

sweetcarer Lovely work Well done on the competition. Pudding is great, sampler coming along very nicely and I adore the learning sampler. Is the graduation in colour from dark to light your idea or what the designer suggested?

The colours for the the learning sampler are as of what the designer chose for purples in DMC. One of the girls in the "learning sampler" group is doing it with some variegated threads. The designer her self is doing it in shades of red from silk mill. She gave so many variations with her instructions - even in my purple - different thread companies.

Here is link to different colours and her conversions are at bottom.

PS I have made the home page with my update :)

sweetcarer - I love the pudding, well done on your competition success. Did you follow a pattern? The samplers are great, I love the Spring colours.

Sweetcarer-that Christmas pudding is wonderful! How long did it take you?

I didn't follow a pattern - just tried to see what was on box. It took a good couple of evenings - got a sore thumb pushing the pins in. Got it from hobby craft - the kit contains enough to make two of them.

Well as I said earlier I am off work today, so going to do some stitching - going to look at some christmas ones and decide what one to do for my exchange.

    Keep well everyone

    Hi ladies.

Ruth. With you on the Xfactor comment, we have given up on it this year too. I don't like the new format, we used to really enjoy the really bad singers (comedy acts we called them :D ) but they didn't show any of them this year.
Also with you on the Celeb Jungle, can't wait for that to start!

Coxy. Santa Clothes is lovely, really like it! The frame and mount are perfect.
Look forward to seeing Flower Shop all framed up.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Sorry I haven't been posting. I haven't had much time, but I have been reading everyone else's posts:D

I really don't have anything to report as I haven't been feeling too well lately and have just not had the energy or concentration to stitch (or do anything other than work and sleep if I'm honest). Hoping to rectify that situation tonight ;) and get a little more of SB done. I still haven't taken it off the frame yet , but that will be my first job tonight and then I'm going to power on with it (hopefully :o).

Loving all the pics and updates.

  • Flying visit from me I'm afraid.

Just received email from Hobbycraft with a code for free postage over the weekend (min spend £5). If anyone can make use of it just drop me a PM.

Off out to s-i-l's tonight. Have taken my stitching with me for the last couple of weeks but it has usually been something quite easy to do. I have a feeling a bottle of Pinot Grigio might be opened tonight. I don't know whether chat, stitching and vino make a good mix - might spend tomorrow unpicking :D

Will catch up with everyone over the weekend.

I arrived home to see on the mat the new issue of WOXS :T and a letter from the health bods which when I opened, I see is about booking my smear test :undecided

WOXS looks fab - can't wait to start stitching the free kit. As usual I always fast forward to next month's pages - nothing appeals but this month's issue has lots of lovely projects inside. There are lots of cute festive designs including those designs that appeared on the front cover of last month's cover but were nowhere to be found in the magazine!

I managed a little bit of stitching/unpicking/stitching on the bus this morning - not sure if I will do any this evening/not sure what's on tv. Resisted the temptation to buy any booze on the way home - so a sober free stitchy evening I hope.

Bothy threads have A Dictionary of Coffee now! :)

Sweetcarer-sounds like you need a thimble!

With my mum in Gloucester for a few nights. Got a few bottles of cider & crabbies to get through. ;) Picked up my Christmas jumpers in town-penguin for me (New Look) and winter scene for mum (Tesco). As its now November, I'm allowed to get Christmas crazy. Lol!

Anyone up to much this weekend?

I really like Dictionary of Coffee which is funny as the Dictionary of Tea design doesn't appeal at all! I also like the new flower design (Bothy Threads Say it with Flowers) but feel its expensive for what it is. I think I will add Dictionary of Coffee to my Christmas wishlist. Louise do you think the individual coffee designs would fit in coasters?

I did manage some stitching last night but to be honest I was watching the clock willing it to be bedtime. I am not sure what it is about Friday nights - I'm excited its finally the weekend but usually I'm tired and grumpy and don't want to do anything! I forced myself to do some stitching though and managed to see the clock go past 9.30pm before I went to bed!

I'm sat drinking tea in my pjs at the moment. I'm undecided today whether I want to batch cook and have a lazy day stitching or go into town shopping.

    Have a lovely day all.
