Flat Eric - what a lovely idea, a declared stitchy/kindle day, now I would vote for anyone suggesting that!
Sweetcarer - your Christmas pudding is amazing, I wish I was more creative!
pm2326 - your panda is beautiful and you can really see what benefit the back stitching has on a piece of work.
We had some strong winds over night but all seems to be calming down now which is good. Hope everyone here has stayed safe and well overnight.
Here is my latest update on my Dad's stocking, I keep putting off the back stitching but know I will have to start it soon
School holidays here, one daughter has gone off to work experience at a local vets and will be home at lunch time and youngest daughter is off out with friends so should be a nice quiet day, just what I need for stitching.

Well we escaped the worst of the stormy winds but the rain is very heavy and falling on waterlogged surfaces so there is a lot of standing water. Heavy rain is more of a worry than wind when you live in a bungalow as we do
Weather not bad enough to trigger our work from home plan so had to drive in - very carefully and trying my best to avoid drenching pedestrians from the bow waves created even at crawling speeds.
FE An official stitching/kindle day would get my vote as well. My mobile phone updates automatically - it's what I use to set other clocks. I have a radio controlled alarm clock that picks up the time from satellites and normally updates automatically. Don't know what was going on yesterday - it didn't update so a I switched it off and on again and when it reset itself it was 2 hours out
pm Love the way your Panda project is developing
sweetcarer Lovely work Well done on the competition. Pudding is great, sampler coming along very nicely and I adore the learning sampler. Is the graduation in colour from dark to light your idea or what the designer suggested?
mos Stocking is really developing well and you should be able to get lots done today
We had a comparatively quiet weekend so managed to finish the stitching on a 50th birthday card as well as a bit more on my SB stocking. I stitched one of the word designs that appeared in Cross Stitch Card Shop earlier this year. I used the cocktail glass design which includes the words Getting Better Not Older. However I didn't like the way the letters were spaced on that line so I unpicked it and re-did it. I used dark red Anchor variegated thread on some pink hand dyed linen - both from my stash so no cost :money: Will take a photo when I have ironed it / made it into a card.
And I think I have decided what to stitch for my Christmas exchange piece so this could change
Have a good day and stay safe everyone0 -
Ladies, look at what I was lucky enough to find on a well known bidding site, they arrived this morning and I am soooooo pleased. They are dated from '86 & '87 and are in great condition, cost me about £2.80 including postage
Can you tell I love the designs of these?

Morning all,
Just checking in, no progress pics from me again, I've only managed 2 more columns on my HEAD, very slow going but I'm really really enjoying it. The pattern isn;t hugely challenging at the moment, and the thought of not having a gigantic amount of backstitch at the end really is lovely! Only problem is, I've seen another design that I want now.... Must resist!!!!!
Loving all of the progress pics, as always. Even the projects that aren't cross stitch are beautiful, the Christmas pudding is amazing!
So the storm wrecked our garden, fence and wall are completely down, as are most down our road, we must be in a wind tunnel. Unfortunate I still made it into work though...
Hope all are safe and warm, hopefully the worst has passed! And good luck all on the exchange, can'[t wait to see your pretty pics!0 -

I had hoped that the nice prime minister (or whoever has authority in such matters) would declare today stitchy/kindle day and order us all back to bed. but sadly I've not seen any news reports of this nature so stitchy time today will be somewhat limited.
That might get a few extra votes :rotfl:
pm2326 - Panda is lovely, good to hear you will be getting extra stitchy time
sweetcareer - pudding is very cute, nice to do something different.
mos - Hope you get your quiet day and can get more done on your stocking
Sorry to hear about the storms and those who have had damageWe have been lucky this time, just some rain last night - no doubt we will get our share over the winter.

Thanks!
I am. Except for the nausea, but I'm actually thankful for that at the moment! I'm still trying to do things around the house, have my second load of laundry in the washer, have emptied one rubbish bin (light stuff), and have swept the kitchen. I keep taking breaks, doing things slowly, and drinking lots of water. Honestly, as long as I can convince DH to vacuum for me I'll be happy! :rotfl:
I want to wash up quite badly, but I don't know if my back will allow it today or not. It's really bothering me at how much is piled up! It's like jenga or tetris in the kitchen at the moment.0
