mos - re snow - DH said it was in last weeks paper that we are due for the heaviest snowfalls in quite a while next month  They say 'don't believe everything you read in the papers'. On this occasion they will probably be right knowing our luck.
FE - make the most of the last of your hols with some stitching tonight. Had some really heavy rain here over the last couple of days. I was coming home last night around 7.15pm and there was horrendous thunder and lightning.
Just about to settle down with Nativity and I know that as soon as I start DS will be downstairs as I have promised to help him sort some stuff for Eb@y. If I don't get stitching out - he will leave Eb@y for another day - s#ds law
Enjoy your evening everyone.

Afternoon ladies,
Have managed to do a few hours stitching but my back is aching so had to stop for a bit to give it a break.
Anyway here's the weekly update:
2013-10-20 16.00.47 by pm2326, on Flickr
I decided to start some of the backstitch as there's quite a lot and I hate doing it so don't want to leave it all until the end.
I've outlined the mountains and started on one of the buildings but I'm just going to do a bit at the end of each session.0 -
Sitting poolside while kids are getting their swimming lessons thinking I should have brought my stitching!
Still, once we are home, then eaten dinner, the kids will be showered and having an early night cos the holidays are now over. Will get a good couple of stitchy hours to myself watching Downton and family guy laterCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. pm2326 - he still looks gorgeous. Sounds like a plan to me regarding backstitch.
Louise - sounded quite glam when you said you were sitting poolside - then I remembered sitting poolside whilst DS had his swimming lessons. :rotfl::rotfl: A good couple of hours stitching tonight eh? You'll be halfway through Madonna by morning
rhaben - thank you. I don't know the exact measurements but I know the frame is A1 size (59.4cm x 84.1cm). She wasn't too bad to stitch as it was on 11 count aida using three strands.
Tea in the oven. Just put pyjamas and fluffy dressing gown on as I am freezing and its still only October.
More Strictly and XFactor for me tonight.
Take care everyone

That was the plan Blue Eyed Girl, unfortunately I haven't felt like doing any stitching today which is a shame as it has been the perfect weather for it. I haven't really felt like doing anything today. Its all back to normal tomorrow so glum! I have however sorted out the lighting situation in my lounge so should be able to see better now when I want to stitch. Unfortunately the lights in my lounge point upwards rather than downwards so a bit of rejigging behind the sofa and I should have room for my spotlights
Louise, its police academy for me then family guy + wine + stitching0 -
Okay so I was just about to go to bed when the Emmerdale omnibus came on closely followed by Coronation Street. I haven't really watched these since Jaxon was born (2.5 years ago) but they were amazing so ended up falling asleep on the sofa about 10am this morning. Hubby soon woke me and sent me to bed, and I didn't waken until about 6pm, so although I got loads of stitching done I missed a whole day out...and even though I had a good sleep I feel quite groggy and have a bad headache. Think I might get a bite to eat and head back to bed and hope tomorrow is better...lol...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

rhaben I used to love buying from craft fairs but since learning to sew and make jewellery ( and I've knitted and crocheted for years) I struggle to justify any purchases to myself. Like you, I always think to myself "I could do that" ( tho maybe not to quite the same standard lol:D). Your reindeer looks great! Can't wait to see it finished.
caroline78 4.30am:eek::eek: I would keep missing the holes if I was still stitching at that time lol:D
b_e_g I think my kit must be slightly different to yours. Exactly same picture but mine is on 14ct. I've triple and quadruple checked to make sure as instructions are in Chinese and it does mention 9, 11 and 14, but no def 14.
I've attached it to a frame and just started stitching it tonight but I'm finding using a frame a nightmare. It just feels bulky and I think my arm will be sore from holding it after a while. Maybe I'm holding everything wrong ( and it doesn't help that my dog is lying beside me on the couch with her head in my lap lol). Would love to hear how everyone else sets themselves up for stitching and how they hold frame. Maybe I need to get a lap frame. Or maybe it's just getting used to working on such a large project as biggest before this was about 8x6cm, this is 50x60cm. Not much diff lol!:D
mos oh no! Please don't mention the s-word! Not yet. Seems only yesterday it was summer!
Flat Eric Like you, I was planning a quiet day stitching but I also got up late, walked the dog 3 times, went out for coffee with a friend and had a bath and have now almost ran out of day :rotfl:.
b_e_g love sb more every time I see herhave you posted any pics of Nativity yet? Will need to look back and see.
pm2326 loving your panda. Will be gorgeous when finished.
Louise hope you get some peace for your stitching and Downton. Homeland for me tonight
caroline78 Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

I use a hoop for everything. Did buy a frame at one point but found it too thick to hold properly. Try a standy up frame too, but couldn't get the material to be tight enough, so went back to my trusty hoop.
My hoop belonged to my Mum's Granny so it is so smooth and I love the history behind it. It must be about 80 years old....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
pm2326, love panda the backstitch is making it come alive
