I've read elsewhere about the price of floss in the UK. That it is high. Here in the US, I get a skein from WalMart (HUGE department store chain) for 30 cents. I think that would be .19 pounds. From what I read, you pay way more than that per skein. Is that true?

If I buy threads at local stores they are usually around the £0.90 mark which is quite  compared to yours in the US. I only buy them locally when I decide I want a colour and I want it NOW :rotfl::rotfl: Other than that we are searching on the www. :D

I've been wanting to find out how much they are at Walmart! Next trip we take I'll definitely be stocking up (probably $100 worth or so if not more). If you don't mind me asking, how much is the Aida there?

Thanks guys, I knew what you'd say but I had to ask :rotfl:

TMIF, its a listing on ebay someone is selling their stash Clicky. If you want it go for it, i'm still undecided as I really don't need it right now. I was watching these 2 listings also 198 dmc and 175 dmc in a lovely wooden box.

    Oh no, I wouldn't dare :) x
  • I've been looking at doing some xstitch Christmas cards, I've found this one on amazon, it looks really good but scared it'll be too complicated?

It' say beautiful design but it uses stitching paper not fabric which isn't as easy to work
If you like snow globes these designs could be stitched on aida http://http://www.lucieheaton.com/index.php?p=ecom&sw=fullproduct&productid=601

  • Thanks shelly and FE for comments on the confetti stitches. Must get them done tonight as I keep putting them off.

Have you tried stitching with a single thread but making each x twice? It's worth trying a few stitches and trailing the thread to see if it shows. Black thread on white fabric will show but white on a pale background may not. I've used this technique on some of my pieces with confetti stitches and/or beads

oooh ladies im so jealous of you all, I was going to ask you over the weekend but just didn't have chance, I think ive lost my stitching mojo, well I'm not sure I mean ive been really busy this past month with stating a new company and working aswell along side being a supermum cleaning and cooking well you know what its like. Anyway im starting to think it maybe the kit im stitching and maybe try something new ? what do you think

You've probably been overdoing things. I would start something new. It' supposed to be an enjoyable pastime not a penance. Maybe stitch something from your stock and use it as a display model? You might find sales improve if people see the finished article
