Congratulations Mrs_T_M, I am 41 now and my eldest will be 18 in 5 weeks time! My youngest will be 17 in May 2014, so I was 23 when I had my eldest and 25 when I had my youngest, when my DD went into hospital last week, the nursing staff kept asking her where her Mum was whilst I was sat with her .
I was 21 when DD was born and 23 when DS was born. I was 47 last week and they are now 25 and 23! I'm reaping the benefits now as both left home and we can do what we want when we want.Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -

i know what you mean about the light today, im upstairs wrapping birthday and christmas pressies and ive still got the house lights on to do that.
Wow about the Christmas present wrapping. I have spent the morning decluttering my wardrobe and drawers. I have three bags for the charity shop mainly stuff that is too big after my op :j:j:j
Found a few bits that I've stashed away for Christmas so tomorrow I will write a list and see what is left to buy. Might do some wrapping on Friday. Determined to have it all done and dusted by the time I go back to work mid November.
Gonna settle down to some stitching now with three episodes of Wentworth Prison back to back.Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -
Hi ladies.
Ailsb & Mrsmp. I'm glad I made sense re 'putting off stitching something so I have it to look forward to' and I'm glad I'm not the only one!
FOS. Yes, I saw the house design is now discontinued when looking for a link to put here. I'm glad I got it when I did (this xmas or last IIRC) but nearly didn't get it at all. I found a free copy of the chart online somewhere (after searching for months, have loved the design for a long time) but once I added up the cost of threads and fabric it was more expensive than the kit so hubby bought me the kit for xmas
Also please don't think me being rude commenting on your post but you are aware you can delete messages from both your received and sent messages folders?
Rhaben. Thanks for the pics, I'm intrigued to see them made up!
Louise. Love the HK ballerina, how cute! Loving all your card designs too, very nice.
BEG. Thanks for asking, I am better and back to my usual self now
re your trailing thread question. For me it depends on thread colour against the fabric colour. If I can trail thread behind the fabric and not see it, I'll do it. Though if I can see it through some holes or when I put my hand behind it (as if it's framed) then I'd have to knot it.
Ems. Nice update. Pirate Ship coming along nicely.
Hippi. Nice design, look forward to seeing your updates on it.
Salfordgirl. Christmas card is really nice. To me the complicated bit looks to be in the cutting out. I have some xmas tree ornament/hangings to stitch but I'm putting them off incase I mess up cutting them out of the perforated sheets :rotfl:
Sweetcarer. Nice updates, I especially like the spring sampler, lovely colours.
Thanks for the update on Soulie and for passing on our best.
MOS. Nice update. I think the hearts look fine next to the Dad.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

fe shame about the unpicking. Which Margaret Sherry are you starting?
Mrs TM Great charity shop finds and very generous to offer to share some of the charts you won't use. Unpicking is horrid and takes longer than stitching:( Pineapples were a great bargain as wellI really like the cat alphabet - you would be able to use the individual letters for cards as well as stitching the whole sampler if you have friends or family who love cats (I'm guessing you do and certainly whoever donated all those kits must have been a cat lover)
I've only ever seen stitching books and magazines in charity shops, no kits. I have occasionally bought a picture from a CS for the frame and used it to frame some stitching
Yes it was annoying having to unpick but my own fault. I need to be more organised and take my time rather than be in too much of a rush to get my cross stitch fix and then mess it up.
I have a few Margaret Sherry projects that I want to stitch. But the most recent I have my eyes on is the design featured in WOXS this month
I do browse the charity shops but its rare for me to find any stash. I think I spotted some threads in a local shop back along but they weren't branded threads and were vastly overpriced.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Mrs MP - good luck with all those beads and sequins  Looking forward to seeing more updates.
Mrs_T_M - Congratulations to you and your family. :j
shelly - hope you're feeling better now.
rhaben - lovely update pics. :T Woo hoo on becoming a non newbie. _party_ Thanks for sharing your past experiences with us.
Done a little bit more stitching this morning on Nordic Santa - only a little bit more to do. Not looking forward to it though. It's snow - very spread out confetti stitching. Was going to use perlescent thread to give it a bit of sparkle. Question time - do I stitch each stitch separately and knot them or do I trail the thread between stitches. I think I know the answer but would just like some confirmation.
Take care everyone

If thread allowed, (and on the basis you need to use 2 strands) I would be tempted to use a single stand of thread folded over so that you can use the loop method to start (and thus catch the thread) and then when you have completed the stitch, run the thread under the stitch you have just completed (or a near by stitch) before snipping the thread.
Gonna settle down to some stitching now with three episodes of Wentworth Prison back to back.
Enjoy. I shall be staying up tonight to watch the latest installment. I find too much goes on for me to be able to stitch at the same time but I do stitch in the adverts! I am enjoying it but not sure I like it as much as the original. Considering the original amounting to over 600 episodes, 12 episodes? in series 1 isn't very many !0 -
The weather has brightened up now compared to the heavy rain earlier so I've got my washing on the line blowing lovely
I enjoyed a lie in this morning - was great to return to hide under the duvet especially when I heard the heavy rain outside.
I'm enjoying a lazy day today - hope to do some stitching this afternoon :j0 -
HK Ballerina completed:
I had been quite pleased with how many cards I got made up last month, but had a look through my pieces waiting to be made up and realised I need to have another card making day very soon (what a hardship)

Some lovely designs here :T how many hours do you stitch in a day? I've been doing stitching most days recently and would love to do more but I'm usually in bed by 10pm, which limits my stitchy time somewhat0 -
Thanks for the link, how cute is snowdog
Re, wentworth I agree not as good as the original, however the 12 episodes is usually only for the first series then if people watch it they expand to 22/24 episodes.
EDIT: I'm having a cross stitch dilemma, I have seen the full set of dmc on bobbins for £115 delivered which is a bargain considering the price is going up in January and ats closing down. I have all I need for BD and it'll take a few months to complete him so I don't really need it just now, should I buy it or wait and hope for some offers later on, HELP :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -

I'm enjoying it but something isn't gelling for me [I can't put my finger on what though] and I don't think I will buy on dvd.0
