Aww Mrs LW thats so cute
We went for a drive to the safari park, major error, there was some sort of incident as we arrived at the big cat section, and they closed it off, bringing cars inside all back out through the entrance. It made the run through the park, extremely busy and not pleasant. Thankfully we were able to drive through and get out within an hour.0 -
Kidcat, poor kids and poor you. Wishing the littlies better asap. Great news about the kittie btw.
Had a nice time out yesterday, met some friends to see a film and they were all going for lunch after which I hadn't planned on. As we have had such a quiet half term decided to forget the bank balance for a change. At least persuaded them to choose a cheaper pub which turned out to be really good value. This will have to be the last meal out for a while, we have had more these last few weeks than the whole year (bar our holiday) but then DH and I have both had birthdays to celebrate and haven't had a meal out in the evening since last June.
Spent a long time last night planning a free day out today to accommodate a wide variety of needs and wants for a small group of friends and their offspring. Lots of simultaneous texts and phone calls and DH looking at me as if I was mad. I have told friends that for the big summer break we are all going to think of a free/cheap day each (choice of 2 ideas) to spread the job. Though I do like researching, planning and organising!
DS7 is still not that well and was shattered yesterday and I woke up feeling rotten again so decided to be sensible and cancel as the museum I had found was a longish drive somewhere new. The ADs warn about driving reaction and I just didn't feel I wanted to drive feeling drowsy and cottonwool headed. On the plus side we have a ready planned idea for another day, maybe over Easter when we all get together.
Feel a bit for the kids being in but that's life and DS9 does need to do some homework (DS7 whizzed through his in a few mins flat and had been doing harder stuff in workbooks - his idea) We also had a bit of snuggle time in our big bed which DS9 has nearly grown out of so that was so very lovely.
Doing the very basics round the house interspersed with downtime and hoping we can get out tomorrow even if its just into town for a change of scene (and getting their feet re-measured)
DS9 is making sounds of frustration so will go and see how he is doing. He has research to do on topic of 1940s (each year is doing a different decade). They can pick any topic - fashion, music, food etc. He comes up with "business and money" which is proving difficult to do as most searches bring up stuff for much older students and academics.
oh groaning turned to humminggreat he is perservering, -Scuse the rambling (as usual I know) I am feeling bored now but too tired to do anything much.

Shame about the safari park KC. Have got a season ticket?
When I read your post, I imagined you and the children literally making a dash on foot through the big cat enclosure!! What a mind I have but in my strange little daydream you all made it through safe and grinning so all's well that ends well eh?!
time for some more paracetamel me thinks (rolling head smilie as I can't add them ever nowdays)0 -
jam sponge is just what your DD needs, alfsmum. Hope you both have a relaxing evening and your cold makes a hasty retreat.

Had an interesting day of pennypinching, OH decided to take me for a belated Valentines lunch at a little Italian cafe in a garden centre. Funnily enough its next to a model railway shop and craft centre -perfect! Went round the Cs's in the local little shopping street first and quickly realised he had left his debit card in his other coat  So we added up what little cash we had plus £10 in my bank and made the best of it.
Managed to get my painkillers (priority) and then just had coffee and shortbread at the cafe. Bought some card I needed from the craft shop, wool from Cs, a book and picked up a brand new jigsaw we have been after for ages. The jiggy was £15 in the garden centre and we got it for £1 in the Cs. Hubby just spent a fiver in the model shop - he is using our enforced time in the house to build a huge railway - and was happy with that.
We had a lovely time and quite enjoyed the challenge so i think we will try it again.
Kidcat hope the little kidcats feel better soon, sounds like you are having very wearing time with everything. Sending hugs xx
Sq sounds like despite everything you are all enjoying the break and well done Ds9 for not giving up -sounds like his Mum.
Mrs LW its funny when you become a grandma you suddenly tune into other like souls and other peoples grandchildren are very interestingGlad darling Ezra is doing well, anytime now he should start sleeping better and your Dd will feel human again. Just wait till you see him again he will seem so much bigger.

hi everyone, SQ I am trying honest. I visited eldest DD first thing and she did my nails for me - im a coral shade with silver tips!! Shoulder is slightly less painful. OH was sent home first thing he had a headache and was sick and cold. Feels better now tho. Mum had another scan with radioactive stuff, we await results....
Tonight we have been invited to DD for tea, so another restful evening. I booked her birthday present, her and fianc! are going harry potter studio tour. I mentioned it and she wants it more than anything.
I had a look in the range today, my what lovely things they have - just not needed really. Found some pillar candle holders in a silver finish for 1.99 each, i resisted. It wasn't hard really as i have £20 till payday and need a few fridge bits!! roll on the 27th.

GINNY DD1 visited yesterday and posted us some photos on the computer and he's completely lost that 'new baby' look since I was there on Friday, it's amazing how quickly they unfurl their little petals at this age isn't it? Spoke to DD2 this afternoon and they had a much better night last night and as a consequence she was feeling much more positive today, lovely to hear. They have just collected a big 3 room tent from a work colleague who is emigrating and plan to take the Zebra child to Glastonbury this year, they were lucky enough to get tickets, braver than me Gunga Dinn!!! Thats good news Lyn, Im so glad he is settling a bit. Its all trial and error isnt it. As for Glasto, yes brave definately but he will have a good taste in music. Im trying to teach Dgs about rock music but its slow going. When he was born I was the first thing he saw and he did the devils horns with his fingers of one hand - you know the rock sign we do at gigs - so I have hopes for him :rotfl:
My Oh has had numerous surgeries and health crises and has been quite good about them all but about half an hour ago he cut his finger and OMg the end of the world is nigh. Mind you it is quite bad and we had trouble stopping the bleeding - he now looks like a cartoon man with a huge bandage and layers of electricians tape holding it on. Of course if I had known he had already used up all the plaster it would have helpedClearing the junk to travel light

Ouch re the finger and
re the rock sign! We had a cockatiel that headbanged. Miss him still.
I've just got in from a very good concert at a local Town Hall where I saw my favourite artist, plus one of the regulars at our music club with his band, as support. A former regular of this thread was with me and we really enjoyed the evening's entertainment.DS took us in, taxi back. Can't be bad.
Fifteen years ago I saw the same artist for the first time at the same venue. Then a different person was in charge and it was cliquey and unfriendly, with a horrible atmosphere.
Tonight I was chatting to everyone, friends old and new and it was such a happy place. It's lovely that it has changed so much for the better.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Will catch up with you soon xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
