Princess, it sounds as if you are comfortable with basic mending, so perhaps have a go at making your own? It really isn't very difficult, and if you have any worn out clothing that isn't need it you can use that for the fabric. It takes more time than anything else to make cushion covers by hand. You can also use tea towels, old cut up sheets or curtains, and if you're really brave old jeans although I wouldn't want to make those by hand. There are packs of three coordinating tea towels at Dunelm M. for about £2.50 right now. They have some designs that might look nice depending on your lounge.
See the lace, mulberry and animal print for ideas:

These instructions aren't too difficult to follow, as long as your cushions aren't too much bigger than the fabric

Right, I think I've distracted myself thinking about cushion covers. :rotfl: It is back to work for me. I have promised OH I'll keep on working as he would like to go to a pub quiz tonight with a colleague. I'm reluctant to leave my desk these days but I think the distraction might do me good, but it requires me to stay on task!
Hugs to any and all who need them, and Mar can you not get some earphones seems to me the RV might sometimes benefit from being drowned out by some nice music.:p0 -

Why does she need earphones? If he objects, he can always go outside :cool:0 -
FPK have you tried your local Facebook selling sites? There are often cushions for sale on mine very cheaply.
Popped to Morrisons this morning and picked up their 12.5kg of potatoes for £2 deal. Even with a farmer friend providing a big sack for £6 I can't better that deal. So I shall be meal-planning around potatoes for a while.0 -

Aye well we could take the last 5 words off that sentence eh...!0 -
Mar, you've almost made me spit my drink on the screen. Greenbee, good point.
Possession, the cushions are for Princess, so hopefully she'll be able to check out facebook, great suggestion.
I've been very well behaved and gotten lots of work done this morning. A bit ahead of schedule so that is pleasing me. Can't let it go to my head though. Best get back to it.0 -
Sorry FPK, wrong princess!
I haven't got much done this morning, I seem to be stuck in a rut and I have visitors coming on Friday so I really ought to be doing something.0 -
Hello everyone
Lyn What great news. Did you see BBC Breakfast this morning? They were talking about tongue ties and the NCT is campaigning for better access to treatment. It might be worth catching on Iplayer and it will show your DD that she really isn't alone xxx
Cushion covers are easy to make. I suggest making envelope style ones that don't require zips. You can always get an old curtain in the right colour from a charity shop, they are generally much cheaper than buying new fabric. Hope that helps PRINCESSX87
:rotfl: mardatha. Let us know if you need help disposing of the body
This morning involved a trip to the dentist and DS2 watching me trying not to gag while my teeth were being checked. He high tailed it out of the room when the Dentist started cleaning my teeth. I might have to get a recording of the drill noise for annoying him when necessary. DS1 is having a problem with one of his back molars that is being referred to an orthodontist. Hopefully that will come through before he goes off to Uni.
Then I got a visit from a dear friend who is having all sorts of problems at the moment. She can't afford to pay her mortgage, can't lower the payment and still has 15 years left on it. I wish I knew how to help. It's her birthday next week so I will have to think of something special for her.
I have to get shopping at some point very soon to buy three Birthday presents that are to be delivered on Saturday, including my Mom's and my nephew's. I can't believe that. He is going to be three tomorrow :T
Time for more laundry. It has been breeding again
Much love and hugs xxxx0 -
SDG there are supposed to be a few govt schemes for such cases - may be worth checking out, I dont have any details of them.
Ladies I am drained today, have managed to get tidied up for the carpet fitter and feed kids but that is it, my back is aching and I feel wrung out. I think the journey yesterday may have been a mistake. Am so looking forward to Thursday when DD isnt in Uni until afternoon as it means no morning rush. We were up at normal time rushing around to get her to bus stop today, so our half term isnt feeling very relaxed so far0 -
Hi SDG yes I did see that item on the news and will make sure DD2 knows about it. Big sister is with her today and currently Zebra minding while little sister gets some shuteye, he wouldn't settle last night so she's very weary. The last I heard Aunt and Nephew were discussing giraffes and he was being tickled by a soft toy anteater and wriggling about, it doesn't need saying that the Aunt is besotted does it? The sky here is suddenly black and very threatening, good job the lurcha and I are back from our walk I feel if it does rain it will be quite a volume of water coming down, good job we're up a slope in the house, much better than on the flat these days! Hello peeps
There's so much to read since I last popped in!Hope everyone's well; hugs, congrats, more hugs for the poorlies, take what you need.
We escaped very lightly weather-wise compared to so many, and it's not rained at all today, and....I HAVE WASHING OUT! :j Only a few towels, and they'll have to be finished off inside, but, crikey it's fab to see summat on the line.
On a less positive note, mum's next door neighbour (who deals at the very least in weed!) had his car torched outside the house last week, he didn't report it, bit worried in case there's any escalation from his "friends"! Little g!ts!!
Due to the way the accountant paid DH some money, although we didn't see it as it stayed in the business, our TC have gone down almost 25%, so a bit more belt tightening here this spring! Never mind, I have a stuffed pantry, some spare cash in the house and a creative mind when it comes to cooking!:D
