Hello everyone
kidcat what wonderful news about the cat. I like Bailey as it would shorten to Bay. I hope we get to see pics when you bring the newest family member home x
Lyn What a struggle your DD is going through, the poor thing. I'm glad she has lots of support. My friend used to have to squirt her baby with a spray bottle of lukewarm water to keep him awake while he was feeding. DS2 had a tongue tie and I was feeding him on both sides, expressing milk and giving him that in a bottle and then having to give him top up bottles. It used to take nearly two hours to feed him while 3 year old DS1 was rampaging through the house. In the end I switched to just bottles and it didn't seem to hurt DS2. He is now 15 and over 6 foot tall. I'm sure that your DD will find out what works best for all of them xxxx
FairyPrincessk I used to make something similar called Swedish Apple Cake. It used breadcrumbs fried in butter and jars of apple sauce and tasted delicious and was very easy to make. It was sort of like this one http://1940sexperiment.wordpress.com/2010/03/04/danish-apple-pudding/
PRINCESSX87 I hope you feel better very soon xxxx
I'm here and reading along and generally ok, just the odd wobble occasionally. Every day seems to have something planned and every weekend is booked until the end of March. I'm longing for a patch of time when I don't have to remember masses of things and juggle what seems like dozens of things at once.
DH has been doing tons of overtime which is paying for his new to him pc. He hasn't had a chance to play with it much, so I'm going to be more of a computer widow than normal in the near future.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the storms and floods. Here in Leicester we haven't been too badly hit by it all, just lots of rain and high winds. My DPIL are near Staines but thankfully they are ok.
Take care and stay safe please everyone xxxx0 -
Dumblepaws!
It was on our list.
What colour is the kitten? I shall be looking forward to lots and lots of photos.
Loved the sunshine this morning (although it showed up far too much dust for my liking), I had the back door wide open and got lots of housework done - lovely to wash the floors knowing they might stay clean for a few hours. Have spent the rest of the day designing some papercuts I want to do, playing the washing hokey cokey and crocheting.
Would love to get to the local wildlife park this week, we have yearly passes so it will be a cheap few hours out with a picnic, just need a bright sunny day and to get DD's up on time! *Ahem* we have had some vet smirks, yes. Then Truffles nips them and that soon stops them smiling, mwah ha ha!0
-
My sister had a rabbit called Dingley the Vampire Bunny. The vet thought it was a joke until he tried cutting his nails and ended up wearing the gloves he generally wore while handling large dogs.0

I can well imagine their faces Possession and SDG, we have a rather delicate looking cat named after a fierce Harry Potter dragon - when she went to the vet, he said ooohh poor kitty fancy calling such a pretty little girl after a big fierce dragon. Few seconds later he commented it was a very apt name for a wild ferocious beast!!0

Ah cat's name. My friend had a black kitten and as they had a painting of a black cat by an artist called Kwok decided that it would be an appropriate name. Apparently the neighbours were electrified by her DH, a very dignified headmaster, calling the cat in at night. Kwok, Kwok, Kwok. (Try it). Mind you it was this very same dignified headmaster who one day took his small sons shopping and asked a shopkeeper to show him some Dippy-Dunks (swimming trunks). He never lived that down.
Mar: know just what you mean. Many's the time I've hurled a cushion at the screen. Would have been a brick if I'd had one handy.
Lyn: It will pass soon enough and then they will be ready for the next challenge! It sounds as though Zebra (sorry, I think that is going to stick) is as desperate for sleep as his poor parents. I hope that it soon sorts itself out and they can enjoy at least an hour or two of sleep at a time. The world will look considerably brighter.
What a lovely day it has been and what a contrast to yesterday. DS1 did his ferry trip to pick up DGS. I asked him how it went and he said that it is the first time he has been on a boat going sideways!

I'm going to get a cat as well, and have decided on either Crisp or Fudge... shows you what is uppermost in my mind doesn't it0

Love Dumblepaws xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Oh, SDG, thanks for the recipe! It is very similar. OH commented that he didn't mind it not being sweet, he'd just put some brown sugar on top. Next time I make it I may add the syrup in your recipe. I went looking online as the recipe in the magazine was very old fashioned, i.e. slow oven, no quantities, no timings. I found several similar called apple or brown betty and I see yours is called Danish Apple Pudding.
Mar, OH's cats growing up were called fudge and sherry. His family loves food:D.
I think Dumblepaws is also quite cute, but afraid it would get shortened to 'Dumb' which might not be very nice. We collect our kitten in a couple of weeks. So far I've made it several toys but we haven't made many preparations otherwise.
Princess, well done on ordering the poppers, let us know how you get on and what a nice windfall, a brand new duvet set! We have a sheet that has completely worn through that I need to replace, but I'll be keeping the good parts of the sheet to use for sewing projects. At the moment I'm remaking an old ripped and stained duvet cover into pillow cases. It feels nice to get use out of something all over again, doesn't it?
My cold seems to be lifting, lots of herbal tea, soup and sleep have helped.
Have had a bit of a lie in this morning as OH is off for half term. Still I've loads of work on today so I shouldn't linger.
Hugs to any and all who need them.x0
