Fuddle, I nipped in here to cheer myself up after Call the Midwife after treating myself to a long lunch to watch it, so you aren't the only one!
Work going ok, dare I say I'm on schedule! Perhaps even a bit ahead? Thats ok, I've now got a cold, so I'm sure it wont last long. Just having a cup of peppermint tea and back to it.
Hugs to all who need them, afraid I can't remember much of anything at the moment, but I am reading!x0 -
Afternoon Toughies, dry but cooler here today and we've had some strange yellow stuff in the sky, wonder what it could be?
SQ hugs to you and Mr.SQ it's this wretched soggy dullness that makes spirits low, it seems to have been with us forever and it's really no wonder we're all feeling fretful and out of sorts, I hope the jetstream moves soon and allows us some calmer weather, even if we don't have the warmth at least some sunshine will cheer us all up won't it?
My lodger is busy viewing rooms at the moment and has seen a couple which would be great for her, she is waiting to hear if the others in the house would like to have her as part of their group. Hope she finds what she's looking for and then can settle down and build her new life in her new job. Things going very well with her now we've sorted out the misinterpretations on both sides, much happier in the home for all of us, much better!!!

Hi.
Lyn, that is brilliant news about Ezra. I am wondering how long it will be before someone starts fussing because he is putting on too much weight. It's bound to come. Hopefully your DD will soon be able to enjoy her baby properly witnout all the anxiety.
SQ. Hope your DH is in a better frame of mind when he gets home. It's so disappointing when you have made the effort to do nice things and it gets thrown back in your face. I guess there is a reason for his bad mood which will surface eventually. MEN!!!!!
No, my smilies havn't come back either. I can get them if I click on post reply but that was the means of losing one of my posts, so I don't bother now.
Kidcat: What a nerve of that breeder, admitting to you that he made a mistake but making no effort to put things right. If I were you I would post that you thanked Mr X for admitting that he'd made a mistake and also thanked him for apologising for all the unfounded misery he had caused. I know he has not apologised but it would let everyone know that a mistake had been made and mention of a (non-existent) apology might shame him into actually making one. Or not. Good luck with finding a suitable kitten. What's that saying? 'What is for you will not go past you.' Your kitten will come, and it will be the right one.
Given up on the ironing. Instead I have purchased a small sign which says, "The ironing fairy has quit. Welcome to the world of creases."
The worst things are being given a short tumble with a damp cloth. It's not too bad.
I think the rest of the week will be put to making the house look more respectable as we have three removal firms coming to give us a price for our July move. It seems a bit early but the people who are going to pay (not us, thankfully) want to get the quotes in.
Wow! the sun has just come out. I feel I must dash out and get a quick dose of Vitamin D.

Hi Kidcat, that makes more sense
I would warn you about some of the shows, some can be v clique-y.
Still worth asking the local vet if they know anyone (some vets n vet nurses are small scale breeders) and you may be lucky with a rescue centre too. Don't stress, the perfect kitten for your DS will come along:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
thanks guys. DH just phoned to say he is working late and not feeling well so not fussed about dinner. Hmmmmm. Spent all day bouying myself up to be cheerful when he comes in and it will be too late to cut the birthday cake so the kids can have a piece tonight with him. My empathies are wearing a bit thin I'm sorry to say. Tomorrow he is at college so DS7 won't see him at all before bed. A friend who knows I am feeling blue promised to phone and hasn't. Oh well I will be ok, just would have liked a nice family time and DH to be happish (Monna - DH's wider family are probably partly to blame and nothing I can do about them, it's just poo)
Anyway will check back in later and see how everyone else is doing. Nice little pay rise fuddle, every little helps eh? Enjoy your pamper.
I am reading In the Midst of Life (sequel to Call the Midwife)... that is super sad in parts
take care folks0 -
Morning toughies - SQ I hope you and the kids had a good evening, and that DH was calmer when he arrived home
Dragonette thank you
Monna - good luck with the moving companies, I think they would run in fear if they had to quote for us moving
We are up super early today as DS15 has to be at the city childrens hospital this morning by 9.30, DS9 is still off school so I have him in tow as well. Have arranged to drop DD7 with a school friend for 8.10, then its drop DD19 at her placement for 8.25 then a drive to make it there on time. Am nervous as anything and know I will forget loads to ask but hopefully they will have leaflets etc to prompt me afterwards0 -
Sorry I have missed loads of posts, not caught up. Woke up at 6 to pelting snow at last we have a real winter! But it's stopped now lol0

Morning toughies
Kidkat - sounds like a stressy day, hope there's an easier more calm end to your day.
SQ - hope DH was in a better mood when he got in. Keep that smile in place and take some time out for you today.
Another grey and dismal looking morning but it's not raining (yet)....I won't hold my breath though.
Went to look at a car with DD1 yesterday but it wasn't quite right, hopefully will see another today. I'm feeling a bit miffed with my Inlaws, they promised to double anything we were going to spend on her car so we could get something really reliable but have now backed out. Whilst I don't want to sound like a spoilt bratt, they really shouldn't make promises like that in front of DD and then pull out. I do appreciate its their money and can spend it how they wish I do feel a little let down for DD.

Kidcat
On BBC1 news and chat this morning there was an item on an autistic boy and the difference getting a pet cat has made to him.
Maybe if some of the breeders (nearly typed something else) see it then their attitude might broaden a little.
Snow on the hills but we seem to be forecast just heavy rain and winds here.
DD setting off to voluntary job to get back into routine after being so ill and had breakfast with her. DH will be offered boiled egg or omelette when he comes in from garden.
Still trying to follow recipes from hairy bikers diet books and last night's chicken corden bleu was lovely and also low cal. Tonight will be spicy pork and rice and want to use up bits and bobs in fridge to make soup and make another loaf in breadmaker.
We are uphill and less than a mile from the river but last time it flooded the bridge was closed for days. GP is our side of river but the two chemists are on the other side so might brave the weather later and pick up prescriptions early to be on the safe side.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

good luck for today kidcat - I know you have already left but thinking of you.
Fairy - hope the cold's better today.
Had an emotional evening with DH but eventually sorted things out between us and all is well on that front at least. Have my course today, session on anxiety, don't fancy going after last night but will go (doing as I'm told.... which I'm not generally good at ha ha) Then planning on lunch, usual chores and a little me time before school run as on my own with kids this eve. DS9 being a rotter in the mornings so tomorrow he will be woken up with me at 6.30 so he will have no excuses in getting ready on time. I love my all male household (including kitties) no end but they drive me crazy too!
thanks so much for your support toughies, you really do help me through the day.
Cornishchick - been thinking of you love. How are you? Pop by if you can x
also anyone heard from gailey?
take care all
