  • He's gained another 60grams so up to 3kg again, not another weigh in until Thursday so the midwife must be happy with the rate of gain and that will make DD2 more settled and confident in what she's doing. Thanks to all of you for your support and messages of encouragement to us, it's such a lovely thing to have all of you in our camp, and such a comfort to me when I'm worried, bless you all, you're fantastic!!! Evening all.

Been stuck in the tail end of the storms over the weekend. We’ve a damaged front garden & slippery grounds but nothing as near to those poor souls on the Somerset levels and beyond!

So, We have spent some of the day repairing / cleaning up as much as we can. We’re due another battering tonight. Just hoping that the forecasts are wrong! Mother Nature, We “need” a break.

I asked recently about repairing our all season duvet and was told about snap poppers. However, Looking into it (Beauty of U*tube) it seems that its not easy and we also need to buy a snap tool? Could someone shed some light on whether its easy enough for beginners to do? And is the tool essential?

Got my appointment to under go IV sedation at the dental hospital to have these problem teeth removed. I am terrified. Has anyone ever had an IV sedation before?

This was my last week of counselling. I’m a little sad as I had formed a bond with her and sadly it had to come to an end. But on a better note, I have been given some excellent tools to understand & cope with things. I’ve also had some answers to questions that’s been on my mind for a very long time. So, For anyone considering counselling, I would snap up the chance.

Hiya, it sounds like you may be looking at the wrong sort of 'snaps' what you need is what us old f*rts call 'press studs' they need nothing more than a needle and thread as are so simple to do, even I can do it!
  • That's good news Lyn and I am sure DD and SIL are much relieved.

Enjoy your time with them on Wednesday and Thursday, she will be so pleased to see you.

  • I know she will CANDLELIGHT I've been invited to do the vacuuming while she dusts, she can't lift the hoover!!! Seriously, I'll do whatever she needs whenever she needs it, just such a relief that he's gaining back what he lost, red letter day will be when he reaches 3.5 kilos as he'll then weigh more than his birth weight. I bumped into an old schoolfriend of hers today when I was walking the lurcha and her little one is due in 2 weeks time, I've been promised a cuddle too!!! lovely that most of her year have waited until now to have a family and are all having them at the same time, babies, awwwwwww!!! These are the old fashioned press studs.
images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQIy1wysB76zcZ2tbS-ooDOnISdIS7TSteFgRbIk2cE5NkO6aG2 You will need quite large ones unless you fancy sewing on loads of them.
  • Hi All,

Princess, you can get them at HobbyCraft and most places that sell haberdashery. I think these 13mm ones would probably do the trick, as that is just over half an inch. However, they go up to 18 mm. Perhaps see which size is closest to what is already on the duvet.

I hope things smooth out quickly for Ezra. It can't be easy, especially as a gp if you know all of the ifs ands and buts to worry about!

As far as enjoying counselling, I don't think there is a thing wrong with that. Hugs to any and all going through counselling or otherwise struggling with black dogs.

Right, well I'm tired. I worked all day yesterday and then took today off and away from the lap top. Did some sewing and some baking after we went to the SM. OH will do most of the cooking again this week so I can keep on top of work.

Suppose that is really all of my news. At some point we'll be going in search of kitten supplies--we need a carrier, a scratching post and a litter tray. We may have some bowls that will do, it depends on if kitty gets along with them. Anything else that is essential? I'm sure things will come up along the way just want to make sure we aren't forgetting anything for the homecoming in a few weeks.

Kidcat, I think it is astonishing that you're having such difficulty with breeders. Does the cat need to be pure-bred, or could it be mixed with the breed you're looking for? Perhaps you'd have better luck checking on gumtree and Pets4homes UK. On Pets4homes you can search by breed and narrow it down by location, I know a lot of breeders who had had 'accidents' or perhaps can't attest to bloodlines post on there. If the breeder's circle has closed ranks perhaps you'll find people who aren't so prejudiced in a different circle. Just a thought.

    Right,

time for a cup of peppermint tea and off to bed soon. Hugs to any and all.x

One thing We did when we got our kittens was to have a set of knitted blankets for them, they now know that if there's a blanket there they can sleep on it. It saves sofas covered in moggy fur, it's all restricted to the blanket and can then be washed. Mine love to chase a hazelnut up and down the hall and have several small meeeces that they love to throw around. Toys on sticks are great to get them running and jumping but steer clear of ones that you need to put on like a glove, it just encourages them to attack hands.

My kittens are all blissed out in front of the fire and give me very indignant looks when I go to throw another log on.

Kidkat - I'm sorry you're having such troubles, might be worth posting on a breeding forum asking for advice?

Glad Ezra has picked up today, so worrying when they're so tiny.

I've had a lovely bath with lots of Epsom salts in, got my jimjams on, infront of the fire with my crochet and a toasted bagel....simple but oh so satisfying.

Oh ladies I am truly gutted, I have managed to trace my issues back to a couple of breeders and have now seen the comments on facebook. Its awful and really upsetting, I have challenged two of them and one had replied - we have discussed his issues and it turns out he had misread my message which has led to this. He says he is sorry he mis read it but obviously its caused all other breeders to shun me, which he doesnt see as being his fault.
Its so upsetting - worse the organisation that regulates them is run by most of these people and therefore any complaint is a waste of time.

What should have been a lovely experience visiting breeders and choosing a kitten has turned into a nightmare and I just want to cry.

Need to say a huge thanks to whoever posted the Ike@ voucher reminder this week, I was able to go and get DS9 new chest of drawers for £12 after my vouchers were deducted :) He is thrilled with them and they look so much tidier too. :)

MrsLW - wonderful news, he will soon be a squidgy ball of loveliness and you will all wonder what the fuss was about :)
  • Excellent tip Pooky, I'll dig out some spare blankets in the next couple of weeks.

Kidcat, I know you'll find a cat that is right for your DS! What breed are you looking for? OH's parents bred for a little when he was small, they haven't done it for years but might have some ideas for you.

    Off to be now.

Kidcat the least he ought to do is to tell the others he made a mistake. :(

Had to share, I've been researching buying a whole lamb for the freezer (once it's a bit emptier) and came across this on Amazon - read the comments they're hilarious! http://www.amazon.co.uk/MeatPacks-Meatpacks-Whole-Lamb/dp/B003UUJ6BG
