I fell asleep again earlier so am awake now.
DS had a white noise tape to settle him as a baby, but the tumble drier worked better. Funny how you forget these things.
Speaking of tumble driers, I will be using mine less as I bought the folding drier on A!di Specialbuys today.https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-6th-february/product-detail/ps/p/foldable-clothes-drying-airer/ I put it straight up and it's great, festooned already. The real reason for getting it is that struggling upstairs with baskets of wet washing to the over-stairs airer was tough on my arthritis, now I just have to get the washing from the machine to the airer and I can iron it - if it needs it - without having to drag it downstairs again.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Morning all, justa quick pop in as I am working 730am until 10pm tonight. Mum was taken into hospital yesterday with heart spasms. She has stayed in overnight and we are waiting for an update. I have been feeling really guilty as I had been with her grocery shopping, but she was fine then and we only went really slowly, I even carried all the bags into mums for her.
Not sure what else we can do. I appreciate she is very bored as all she has been doing is reading and relaxing. Fingers crossed they manage to get things sorted.
Well must dash, another stupidly long and busy day ahead. take care all xBSC member 137

Morning toughies
Nutty - (((Hugs))) its so hard finding a balance between a quality of life and keeping someone healthy. I do hope they can get everything sorted for your mum and get her back to her old self
Jem - ((hugs)) I have to agree with the others it doesnt sound right not to want to eat at all. And 3lbs weight loss in a day seems way too high.
Have been reading along but its usually when I am sat outside schoool for two minutes waiting so havent had time to post.
Its been a very long week, as DD19 is on teacher placement this week and next and OH has done alot of extra hours and long distance stuff.
DS15 is playing up something awful, refusing to get up and be ready on time - as he doesnt need to be in till later. I understand he cant help it and its his auty side but OMG some days I want to scream.
We have after over 12months of studying finally managed to choose a cat variety that has the right texture, temperament and size as companion sensory friend for DS15. So I have begun contacting breeders, I am stunned at the level of nastiness, ignorance and bigotted attitudes I have encountered and have been really upset by it.
One has decided that autistic kids shouldnt have pets and is therefore contacting other local breeders making up things I am supposed to have said. Which means even when I find a nice breeder willing to meet us they are calling back accusing me of saying things and cancelling. I do not understand the mentality of some people.
I did manage to find a good understanding breeder yesterday but she is over 2 hours drive away which is further than I would really like to go.
Sending hugs to all as I think its the time of year we all need a pick up0 -
Morning all, still problems with Ezra, he'd lost another 50g when he was weighed yesterday so midwife has said supplement feeds of formula and some medication to help with DDs milk supply and if no improvement today they will both go back in to hospital to monitor which i guess would be the best thing but probably not to DDs mind!
Trying times but I'm sure the peadiatricians will be able to fix him if necessary. I feel so sad for DD and SIL though as this should be a time of joy and getting to know their new little boy and it's been stress and problems all the way so far. However, on a brighter note we came second in the pub quiz last night and my lodger is out and looking at rooms all this weekend so things are far less difficult here which makes coping with the Ezra thing less hard to bear. Grey and wet here again, but nothing to what the poor folks from the Somerset Levels are having to endure, their situation is dire and going to take a very long time to sort out. I know we can't blame TPTB for the weather but the response has been late and very half hearted up to now. Thank goodness they've sent in the army at least there will be some real physical help now won't there? Have a good day all, Lyn xxx.0 -
kidcat I wonder if it would help to spread understanding if you contact these people and told them what happened and explained how cats can help Autistic people.0

Morning all,
Just wanted to pop in and offer hugs to Nutty, Mrs. LW. Jem, Kez, Monnagran, and Shegar. It sounds like a trying time for all of you.
I too have ironing tricks (and folding/hanging up tricks) I always do the bulkiest items first. It makes the pile go down faster. Of course this has the downside of leaving all of the bitty things to last when I'm tired and cheesed off with it.
Right, I'm off to teach today. Afraid I'm working again tomorrow, but have decided to have a half day of nice time to myself on Sunday.0 -

honestly we've had all that, even from parents / family of autistic children. apparently they kids are to different to have one. load of nonsense.
they all surprised when ds2 comes to me and says mammy don't forget we have to phone the vets in four weeks for the kittens. Then people ask him why and he replies "none of my kittens are having babies they far to young, a responsible owner neuters they cats." then promptly wanders off to play.
ds2 although he's 9 knows all about the cats from an early age and when we rescued shadow, who is now 2. He was with me and chatted to the vet and asked all out the pros and cons of neutering. So when the kittens arrived i got told very calmly, that the kittens have to spayed as he do not want anything to happen to them.
What people forget is that an auty thrives off routine and a pet is fantastic for them as they get to feel furs, watch them grow and give them a great understanding and help deal with emotions.
so whenever i get people saying it to me and i have ds2 there he answers for me. Guess what they ALL look shocked and guilty, gives me great pleasure especially around ignorant bigots.
Glad you managed to eat something jem x
OH took kids to school, i was in bed by 9am, didn't sleep but it felt great just laying down. ds2 was in our bed again, his joints are hurting him, so he's got the bug too. OH said get him a taxi on his way home tonight, i was stumbling this morning so cancelled counselling.0 -
Morning all.
Lyn, When my SIL had ruby, They kept her in for the same reasons. Baby was born a very health weight, However she wasn’t feeding. It was only when she came home and was told from family to try Ruby on Hungry baby milk that she found a level medium.
Your daughter will find that medium, Just hoping that she “ISNT” put under pressure to find someone to work straight away. Hugs to you all.
Its been a tough week or two here. Firstly, I received my appointment for sedation at the dental hospital. But there is still confusion to what’s being done. Less than 3 weeks away my appointment is, I’m still terrified about what I’m going to feel / see / hear ect.
Then Monday, I get a call from my mum. She was absolutely beside herself. Someone has purposely killed her cat outside her home. They ran him over when he was on the pavement. People see this happen, But no one decided to get the reg of the car. The person behind the said car, Managed to get him in her car and drove him to the vets, But it was too late.
I have been so heart broken. We’ve had him since he was born (Mum cat was ours) and for someone to just take him away from us is unreal. But because he’s a cat, Many people do not care.
Anyways, dogs need to stretch their legs. Speak soon all.Future goals:

Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Oh Princess what a horrible thing to do.0

Hello everyone,
sounds like lots of us need a great big hug - going out especially to ((((((((((jem, kez, nutty, Princess, Mrs LW and anyone else I have probably forgotten.)))))))))
I have ironing tricks FairyP - I don't do any! It's brilliant, I discovered the non-ironing trick when the kids were very small and I was very tired. Actually I iron things for special occasions, linen etc but only a handful of items a YEAR!
Lyn, my youngest lost a lost of weight due to feeding problems (I was not designed very well for breastfeeding despite my very best efforts) and he and I were back in hospital within his 1st week. We were home in a few days and he continued to thrive and is now the tallest by far in his class. It IS difficult for a new mum (especially a 1st time one) to have this worry but he will be fine even if he does have to pop into hospital for a couple of days. Thinking of you all.
Had an awful night's sleep but promised myself a trip out to Ikkkea to spend my £20 "Xmas Tree voucher"
catch you all later, take care
