Mrs LW im glad the not so quiet house has worked. I posted it as my mum told me if the baby has been used to noise while in the womb, then when they are born its more scarey to be dead quiet. And the other thing is, if you want to go out and they fall asleep they should be sleep anywhere iygwim.
My youngest is now 18, and she still hate sleeping in a quiet house. Often she has her ipod on a speaker really low, if it helps who cares.

Lovely to hear all the updates, and all is going well, x

  • Perhaps not very MSE but my mum used to put me in my car seat near the tumble drier to get me off to sleep. Of course where we lived at the time washing would never have dried without it and since she used cloth nappies I imagine she needed it on most days anyway. I'm not so keen on noise now. She also used to read me the newspaper as I liked the sound of her voice but that was what she wanted to read. She didn't think it matted although it may have affected me in the long run in my choice of career.:rotfl:

Glad she is getting along better Mrs. LW and pleased you'll be able to go and help when she needs you.

Nutty you are always on the go, I don't know where you get your stamina!

Its all work for me again. OH has a parent's evening so I'll be working late tonight as well. There is some leftover soup in the fridge, but might save that for my lunch tomorrow and just have some eggs for my tea.

    Hugs.x

JEM.......Ive just googled hypnotherapy gastric band , I didnt know that even existed, I think you would probaly be best to ring your hypnotherapist and explain whats going on, yea its nice to be able to lose some weight , but you need to do it slowly and carefully .............

KEZLOU....So sorry you feel sh*te , sounds like a throat virus , if it was flu it would take you off your feet for a week or 2 , paracetamol and fluids dear girl is what you need , plus vics rubbed on your chest.........

GRANDMA....I use to push the pram over a indoor step, that usually did the job......:D

NUTTY ...Glad your mum id doing ok.....

Ive been up the hospital today to the ENT department to get my results from the face scan I had Dec 23........Ive got Chronic sinus disease ,....As ive already had painkillers , acupuncture , nasal sprays and had this for 5 years im going in to have it operated on:D:D, I really cant wait , its been a total nightmare all these years , dr said I should be opped on in 8 weeks , so glad to hear it, trouble is ive got to take steroids for 2 weeks leading up to the operation, not keen on steroids at all cos a long time ago I was put on them and my weight shot up..............

.He told me the op consists of getting the bone and lining away from my tubes , ive only got to be in 2 days and thats really because they have to put me on a insulin drip and have a general anaesthetic , be so glad to get it done, as I feel as though ive had a continuous cold for the past 5 years..............All for now Sheila

I had mine done about 22 years ago. The worst bit is when they take all the wadding from out of your nose - there's yards of it  literally

It doesn't hurt but is unpleasant. I had to have a sausage shaped bandage under my nose and it went up round my ears and was tied round my head. Sexy :p.

But for many years I didn't have any problems. For about the last 5 years I have noticed it getting worse, but not to the point of having it done again.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

oh that operation sounds awful shegar, hopefully it all will done with soon. just in time for summer :)

DS2 came home in a taxi, the firm were fantastic and brought him to the door. The driver made him feel comfortable and told him all about the satnav, ds2 is obsessed with them.

After i came here i went all dizzy and blacked out.
My knees collapsed twice, so its officially affecting joints, can barely move my back and arms. :(

feel so guilty though as even when i was on crutches and in a wheelchair i still managed to pick ds2 up from school.

Jem never heard of that type of band before, i'd get checked oput if i was you.

Good news though my dad squirts have stopped yay! yay the lopermide worked. so chuffed, he's still feeling weak but at least his temperature has dropped.

just sent both boys to bed they were arguing about all sorts. ds1 winding up ds2 so i thought no had enough.sick of the screaming, my poor neighbours. so the house is quiet now finally.

Had hardly stood up from the computer this morning when the door bell went - just over an hour's visit. Cooked lunch. Cleaned kitchen. DS1 arrived with Mia. An hour later I had taken about six steps towards the ironing board when the phone went and someone said," Oh! I'm so glad it's you. I hate to bother the Rev as I know she's very busy but I simply must talk to someone." One and three quarters of an hour later I put the phone down just as the Rev came in for tea. At which point I gave up the idea of doing anything else today.

Out tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Maybe ironing on Tuesday?

    I try. Honestly, I try.

I have a trick of sorting through the ironing basket & taking out anything that won't be worn visible (t-shirts for example) and things like tea towels or pillowcases, then just ironing the collar & cuffs of shirts that will be under a jumper or cardigan, and things that really NEED ironing. Reduces the pile greatly and DH never notices ;)

I also iron to rugby or golf on TV (so Heineken CUp and the Open or Ryder Cup are ironing times of the year for me!), and at christmas found Death Comes To Pemberley great ironing "watching"!
