CornishChick open a complaint with ebay.
Thanks guys for all your advice.
I withdrew my bid 2 days ago but was emailed to say I had won and my payment was due.
Sent a report into eBay, seller has re listed the item and eBay sent an automated message saying they are looking into the issue. So lesson learnt.
Other news dentist today, small filling but on way to car park found a lovely second hand book shop. So a good day.
Hugs from a very windy and wet Cornwall.
Torches and candles at the ready as the lights keep dipping..

Morning Everyone,
Yesterday was a very long day of work and its another one today, and tomorrow..and for awhile. Still, I'm making progress and that is what matters.
Monnagran the thread "Old Style Baking Ingredients" has a diabetic friendly cake recipe posted. One of the posters is diabetic and suggested omitting the sugar. Not sure if this will help for your cooking, but worth a shot!
Pooky hope you are feeling better!
Possession big hugs! Is it possible to plan something nice for next weekend (or whenever you have a bit of time off? Even just an evening of card games with some HM popcorn.
Nutty glad the rest is helping your mum, although I wish they could find a more stable solution for her! Hope you enjoyed the hot choc!
Right, I think I'd best get to work! I almost got distracted reading about a new strain of flu and straying over to the SHTF thread. That is a dangerous place for me! I fear in another life I might have been one of those over zealous American preppers. OH does not understand the satisfaction my stockpile of tinned tomatoes brings!:rotfl:
SDG, Pink Debster, (there is a poster whose name I cannot for the life of me remember right now!) I'm thinking of you. Pink, have they managed to clear the infection and have you managed to keep much weight on?
Hugs to any and all who need them.0 -
Morning lovely toughies, been MIA what with work and lots of poorly family. Dd19 with noro virus, Dd17 on antibiotics for bug that won't shift, DH coughing and spluttering everywhere, a few power cuts thrown in for good measure and endless rain.
Been trying to read along but general hugs for anyone who needs them, hope everyone is ok.
Popped into Mr T's at crack of dawn for the first time in ages, shocked by prices as ever. Have to take Dd17s sample to surgery next then on to allotment in howling gale to bag up some plastic flowerpots I've promised to someone so will call by Lidl when I'm out.
Take care all and have a good day:)0 -
Morning all, Yesterday was a busy day in the end. Managed a quick drink with DD, wow isn't it expensive in costa!! Not somewhere I will be able to go again in a hurry. Was a lovely drink but very expensive.
Today is a rest day, takeing mum out for an hour or so. Then I have to come back and get sorted for the next few days. We have people off work for holidays until the end of march, plenty of overtime for me short term. I know it will be hard as over the next 3 days I will be working 38 hours. OH will help as much as possible.
Well I checked the bank account and after all the bills have been paid we have around £250 until the end of the month. Need petrol for the cars and electric and gas for the metres. Food will be used up this month. We have quite a bit in the freezer and store cupboards so fingers crossed we can manage.
Well washing needs hanging out, rain has stopped for a while. take care xBSC member 137

Hello everyone
Thank you for thinking of me FairyPrincessk
((((((((((Possession))))))))))))) I hope you are feeling brighter today xxx
I know what you mean about Costa nuttyp I've friended them on Facebook and they occasionally have competitions to win points to spend in store. I wait until then to get my fix of decaf hazelnut lattes. I hope you DM is doing well xxx
I hope the multitude of lurgies pass soon alfsmum.
I'm glad everything has been sorted with your visitor Lyn. Sorry for not replying sooner and offering my congratulations, but I promise I made suitable awwwww noises and grinned a lot. Ezra is a gorgeous lump of cuddle
monnagran I make tea loaves for my DPIL and replace the sugar with splenda. I can post the recipe if you would like it.
(((((((((((Pooky)))))))))))
I'm sorry that I've been MIA for a while. I've been trying to get my head around a few things and have had a low grade lurgy that has been zapping my energy. Add in a bout of insomnia and I've been napping a lot.
Work has been interesting. There is another shop close by and the deputy manager is meant to be retiring and four different managers, including the manager of the other shop, have said that I should apply and would be good at the job. No idea if it is going to happen, but I think it would be good for me if it did. Not to mention that the money would be very useful. It's strange that I'm still having problems with little things, but am thinking about having a job. I haven't felt able to even imagine working for a very long time, so getting my head around it has been a shock.
Life is busy at the moment. We are off to Hull Uni on Saturday and Birmingham Uni in two weeks. I think DS1 has decided that Hull is his first choice and as they are offering him a scholarship if he meets the grade requirements, his Dad and I are encouraging it.
Much love and hugs to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
SDG I would love that recipe too... I tried using Splenda in cakes once and the whole lot went in the bin after one nibble! I don't know how much you're supposed to use lol0

Tea Loaf Recipe
13oz dried fruit
4oz sugar OR 8 level tablespoons of Splenda
1/2 pint of tea
2 beaten eggs
6oz plain flour
1 level teaspoon baking powder
1/4-1/2 of mixed spice, cinnamon, ginger or cloves. I tend to use a mix of them, but remember to only add a tiny amount of ground cloves.
Soak the fruit in the tea and sugar/splenda overnight
(I add in a bit of booze at this point. Contreau and rum work well. As does adding in some orange zest)
Pre-heat the oven to 190C/Gas Mark 5.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients and bake in a 2lb loaf tin for 45 minutes. You can also split the mix into 2 1lb tins and cook for about 30 minutes.
Hope that works xxx
mardatha you use two level tablespoons of Splenda for each ounce of sugar you are replacing. I find it works best in things with strong flavours to mask the aftertaste of the Splenda.0 -
Ok ty, yes - personally I'd rather leave it out altogether because I hate the taste of it, but the RV misses a wee cake0

Oh dear, poor DD2 is having a tough time with the new little one, he's not settling at night and she's tired out and very emotional poor lovie. I remember those first few weeks so well and can sympathise with her so much. I don't think there's anything other than him growing up a little that will make any difference but I may go down to her next week when her DH goes back to work. Poor baby girl, she's down and sad today.0

Oh dear Lyn, I can remember it well, poor girl. If you can manage to see her next week that will make all the difference. She could perhaps have a nap in the afternoon whilst you take Ezra out.
It doesn't matter what people tell you nothing prepares you for the impact your first baby has on your life. She is tired from giving birth and then tired from the little demands of Ezra during the day but mostly at night.
Send her lots of hugs and tell her you will be with her soon, that will give her something to hang on to.
Much love
Candlelightx0
