Retract your bid and highlight the unreasonable postage Cornish. It won't be a problem, since the seller is only doing it that way to avoid ebay fees.
Lyn I'm glad you're all sorted.
I seem to have a feeling of impending doom I can't shift. It's all related to my work problems (and DH's lack of work problems) I think. What a pain.0 -
Hi all, Cornish chick, I would message them and explain that you read £10 postage, If they insist on the amount of £109 postage report to ebay. They have limits on postage costs now, and if it is deamed unfair they will cancel the sale for you.
Mrs LW, well done on the talk. I hope she appreciates you kindness in helping her for the short term, and in finding another place to stay.
This morning I took mum to the doctors, we needed to get some more repeat items, and the tablets she no longer takes we handed in. Then it was off to the village hair dressers. It is a lot cheaper than the place in town I usually go to and I like the new hair cut.
Eldest DD has called and we are meeting in town for a hot chocolate today, I have work later so we will meet around 1ish. Will be nice to catch up and chat, She needs to get some foundation so will be trapesing around the shops for 'the one'.
Sun in out so must peg the washing on the line. Have a good day xBSC member 137

You have done the right thing Mrs LW in offering temporary accommodation to someone and then helping and encouraging them to move on. Far better for the woman to have had a warm, friendly, safe place to stay for a short time whilst she sorts out a suitable rented place than to overstay her welcome and leave with everyone including her feeling bad. Glad you feel relieved Mrs LW - the power of talking things through!
I have been called for jury service and was in a right panic yesterday especially as the stint falls in the school holidays and DH can't get the time off work. I also feel too low and anxious to cope with the stress of it all. I am going to ask to be excused on the grounds of no childcare for primary school children and receiving treatment for depression and hoping that will be enough. If I don't get excused I will ask for deferment til the autumn when DH will be finished at college and over the busiest time at work (at a university) and also will have a full year's annual leave entitlement again. He has/is taking a lot of leave for college as doesn't get any study leave.
I went to my mood and stress management course today. Didn't feel like it as very tired but made myself go and glad I did. Today all the obvious stuff relating to a healthy lifestyle was talked about and although I didn't learn anything new I do feel more determined to prioritise my health needs. I am going to eat better and exercise more and do all the other stuff they encourage like keeping a thoughts diary and stress level record. It will be small steps all the way but I am going to make a start as I have nothing to loose and everything to gain by looking after myself properly. No more eating a ton of biscuits washed down with caffeine!
Have a couple of hours to sort out the house a bit and get some milk before the school run so off I go. We have bright sunshine here makes for a lovely change.

I popped into town this morning on the bus and visited Mr.Ts emporium and they were selling the 900g orange plastic big tins of Jacobs biscuits for cheese for £1 each. The use by date is August 2014 so they'll be in date for ages, shame I could only carry one with all my other shopping, might be worth a look if you're in your local branch, Lyn xxx.0

Thanks so much for posting that - an excellent riposte from Jack. Have shared it on my FB page ....0 -
Just had a yummy dinner - chicken, bacon and red pepper lasagne. Not sure why I felt the need to post but it was so good. I need to add some new recipes to my list of favourites, been browsing and want to make them all!

thanks. I didn't see the programme but felt Jack gave a brilliant and heartfelt statement. If only these politicians listened, really listened to ordinary people struggling to pay for the basics costs of living.
edit: Pooky, hope you've had restful day and feeling a bit stronger. Hugs (gentle ones!)0
