MONNAGRAN you seem to be the only one still allowed to use lovely, if any of the board guides are able to tell us why that word and 'sales' are being filtered out I'd be very grateful. I've looked at the forum rules and there doesn't seem to be anything there about filtering, is it just a glitch? or is there a reason why love is seen as an offensive term?
OK the filter seems to have been removed and the word lovely is back in all the posts, thanks Board Guides, please ignore the above question, Thanks, Lyn xxx.0 -
Afternoon All
Ghastly day here, cold and mizzling. Just had a nice warming mug of home-made broccoli and stilton soup, and wrapped up in my Christmas present (lovely furry dressing gown with 'ears'). I must say that the fabric of the dressing gown does seem to keep me much warmer than other clothes, perhaps because it has 'fur' both sides?
Just had my first play with my craft room set up for jewellery making, very pleased, just an issue with the desk - it's too low, so I have to hunch down to do any sawing. I will have to chop the legs off my chair!
I will be adding the caraway seeds in Mrs L's recipe, but must remember not to if entertaining Mr OG, he is intolerant of them. I did not know and once gave him mashed swede with caraway in it, and he rushed home to be violently ill - strange how tiny amounts of ingredients can affect people.
Right - back to work, earposts have arrived so got some soldering to do!
Lovely:A:p:eek:;):o:):D

MRS C if MR OG can't have carraway seeds an alternative flavouring for the red cabbage would be dried cranberries, that is used in scandinavia quite a lot and makes a nice alternative, hope that helps, Lyn xxx.0

It's been beautiful here, all windows and doors open for a good couple of hours this morning. The washing went out but came back in still damp but smells lovely and fresh...simple things eh?
Windscreen man has been and gone, all sorted! As promised I gutted our bedroom, moved all the furniture out to Hoover behind (aside from the wardrobe which isn't going anywhere). I brought some more underbed storage boxes and have those filled with all my wool. Managed to fill a black sack full of tatt, where does it all come from?
DH is snoring away on the sofa so I shall get dinner prepped and do a bit of a store cupboard shuffle. His new scooter should be here tomorrow, he played 2 companies off against each other and managed to get the scooter for £845 less than in the local mobility shops. Granted the local place offers a 3 year annual service in their price but my Dad can service it for us so I've no idea how they can charge so much.

Hi all, had a day off work and what did I end up doing. Assembeling DD new bed frame. It took me over 2 hours, as diy assembling things isn't really me. I like to check everything off thelist and then start as the instructions say.
Need to list her old bed and memory foam mattress on landofbay and the local supermarket. Whatever I can get for it will be a bonus, and can pay for the paint for the room.
Well must go sort out tea, needs to be veg based as we have quite a bit to use up. Take care all xBSC member 137

Well definatley no peace here, mum has been taken back into hospital. She had chest pains again and when the paramedic put the wires on her the machine detected something. These have gone with the ambulance crew. Eldest DD has called and she is going to go over to the hospital, I am waiting for OH to come home and then he can drive me over too. There is fog here and I cant drive in it.
I have called my brother and he said to let him know if anything happens, why wont he go over? sorry I know im rambling but he so upsets me. Hes the one with the big house and family, but I struggle with a little council house and I always put my mum first. That's what you should do? after all my mum helped me when my girls were little and I was working.
Well must dish up tea, and then out we go. take care all, and sorry for the off loading.BSC member 137

NUTTY I'm so sorry your poor mum has problems again, you've lots on your plate at the moment girlie and I'm glad you have immediate family who rally round and help you to help her. Perhaps your brother can't bring himself to think of mum being this poorly, lots of men find it difficult to face the emotion involved when a parent is older and having problems, they're maybe afraid of breaking down and appearing weak? Your mum has all of you looking out for her and you all look out for each other, you're a strong little family unit and we're here for you too, always, Lyn xxx.0

Just wanted to stop in and say that my hugs and thoughts are with you Nutty. I think for some people they find it hard to be near someone they always thought of as strong when they aren't strong. It doesn't excuse your brother, but it might not mean he doesn't care. I hope the best for your mum and that they are able to help her.

That's cos our monna is so lovely! aawwww!
Mrs C - our boys have warm furry dressing gowns with animal ears, they look so cute wearing them (as I'm sure you do ha ha!) Happy jewellery making.
Thanks Mrs LW - I have dried cranberries (love them) but no carraway seeds so will use what I have.... just need to buy the cabbage now! I might invest in some cooking wine at that price too.
We went to a school friend of DS7's house this afternoon. It's only the second time he has been to a school friend's home and as he hadn't been to this friend's, he wanted me to come along. Fortunately I know his mum quite well having invited her along to an outing in the summer and she said it was ok for me to come along too which also meant DS9. Really appreciated it as otherwise DS wouldn't have gone.
I declined the offer of dinner for the kids as it seemed too cheeky as it was with 3 of us coming. So a rush to get some frozen pizzas on once back home (thank goodness for convenience food, it has its uses.) DS7's little friend has an 8 year old brother so there were 4 boys aged 6/7/8/9 tearing about the place having a ball. Next time it will be my turn to host though (insert horrified face.... where are MY smilies s'not fair)
Only little moan is that I came home with hair smelling of ciggies, as both parents smoke (mum smoked outside when we were there.) Hardly anyone I know smokes and forgotten our strong the smell is and it made me cough a bit. Any tips for getting the smell out of my hair without washing it (only washed it last nightand it usually lasts 3 days.

I'm so sorry that your DM isn't doing well again nuttyp
She is in good hands and I'm sure that she will be well taken care of. Please remember to take care of yourself as well please.
((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
I'm sorry that I missed your birthday MrsLW I hope you had a lovely day. I did smile at the image of a tealight on top of a slightly stale bun. That sounds like something my DH would do. Luckily DS2 has started baking and makes me cakes. He made very good millionaires shortbread on Sunday
Pooky I'm making these for dinner. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/papa-rellena-con-salsa-ranchera-stuffed-potato-with-spicy-creole-sauce-recipe/index.html I got fed up of making the same things with minced beef all the time. I'm just making a basic tomato sauce to serve with them. I'll let you know how they turn out.
fuddle I'm sorry that your family is causing problems again, but good for you dealing with it and processing it all so well
The best of luck with the counselling SQ I know I'm finding it useful and I hope you will too ((((((((hugs)))))
I'm trying to wean myself off being on the laptop so much. I'm not doing anything useful on it and am just using it as a comfort blanket to avoid having to think and do anything else. I've started a new knitting project and am making myself spend time on that instead. At least it is something useful. I'm knitting myself a cardigan with a frill at the bottom in Paton Fab wool in the Jeans colouration. It's turning out to be much more colourful than I expected from the wool label, at least it will be unique. I'm thinking of putting a plain band and buttons on it to tone it down a little.
Time to fire up the deep fat fryer and see what dinner tastes like
Much love and hugs xxxxxxx0
