re weddings - we had a register office ceremony, followed by a reception at home, and we are happier than ever nearly 26 years later x
re fridges - ours only ever has fruit, veg, milk, eggs, cheese, pickle, jam etc in it..... kids when at home always said it was empty and that there was nothing to eat ! funny how there is always the means of making a meal within the time it takes to heat up something ready made.....This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Gailey - it will look official, but there are still processes to be gone through. Shelter can give you clear advice on what you have to do, what they have to do etc. For instance here our council wont accept you are homeless unless you have formally been evicted.
Weddings - our wedding cost less than £500 including food and outfits0 -
Wow…Some amazing wedding stories there. Thank you for sharing them. We have looked at a registry office, But, Not sure on the building. (We have some disabled / elderly) family members & friends who would of course be invited and the venue has a lot of stairs.
I know it means searching around, So I have spent today emailing churches, registered venues ect to find out some further information about holding the ceremony there.
Gailey, I will send you a pm. As we’re local, Hopefully I’ll be able to keep an eye out for you honey xFuture goals:

Princess - There has to be disabled access in a building like that. Ask, they'll happily show you round.
Ours was less than £500 including outfits, rings and reception too. Had 50 people back to the house for homemade grub (was up until 2am baking breads and finishing off) the toilet handle snapped off about 10pm the night before and I was having kittens about 50 people and no working loo....didn't think a bucket to slosh down the loo was the look I was going for, quick call to Dad and he popped round and made a "make do" handle that saved the day.
We've just celebrated our 12th anniversary. It's one day, out of the rest of your life and it's all about what you both want, not pleasing others (although it's nice to please them too).
Having one of those days where I'm not sure if I've been, going or coming back. Hair cut tomorrow, not had it done for 6 months with the aim of growing it out......can't stand it any longer so having it all chopped off again."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Registry office will have disabled access, it's a legal requirement.
Hubby & I married 2 years ago, £400, I made my dress, carried flowers from my garden, reception in our home. It was a fantastic day.

PX87 as others have said every Register Office has to have a disabled access. Usually these buildings are owned by the Local Authority and therefore a legal requirement to have access for all.

Ugh. Horrible evening. I've felt for a while that work were nitpicking with me and it's come to a head today. I feel quite sick. I don't know what we'd do if I lost my job given how uncertain everything is with DH getting a job and his anxiety. Anyway, fingers crossed it won't come to that.0
