Evening toughies
stilty - glad she is enjoying the communicator, as Pooky says if you are fundraising yourself I would like to help in some way
kez - I am going through exactly the same things with the school group, and like you I know I have done the right thing, it doesnt stop the pain though does it, ((hugs)) it is their loss and whilst they may not yet see that, you know the truth
Well I did it and I now have new antibiotics, a treatment plan and a set of instructions for the treatment which are going to be very hard, I have to be sedated for the treatment and will need someone with me there, I wont be able to drive or cook etc for 24hrs afterwards and will need someone to care for me, three times I will need this minimum. OH is going to speak to his employer about unpaid leave for each one, as he will have to take over care of the boys, we are thinking it will fall into parental leave.:eek:0 -
Pooky, Kidcat - that's so kind of you but unless something goes drastically wrong then health will fund 50% and education the other 50%. Our Speech and Language says she's never had one turned down for funding just delayed if funds not available. Hoping that if she applies before end of this financial year DD will be first in the queue when new financial year funding released.
Glad you have a plan to get sorted and hope you can organise the logistics without too much hassle.0 -
Hugs to those in need and those who think they would like one.
Thank you for the faggot recipe Silvasaver.
Interesting to hear Fuddle refer to them as a southern thing, we had them at home in South Wales, which although south, is northern in spirit, in a manner of speaking, especially in the mining areas.
I've been able to find frozen faggots up here in the NE for years, (c £1.50 for 6 in Heron so this is quite a saving. )
When I lived in N. Yorks I found faggots in butcher's shops as 'savoury ducks', I'm sure I've seen this term further north too .
Best eaten with vinegary peas and chips, imo.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Well they sound nice but I cant make them, I just know it would drive me mad and turn out wrong. I am best not to try unknown strange recipies. They tend to come out even stranger lol0

Oh savoury ducks mcculloch.
I've had them before, my mum used to make them with pease pudding onions and brown sauce.
They sell them in them in butchers here, never knew they were faggots.0 -
Stilty aw,bet she loves it, here again for donation and, don't forget cereba have funding to!
Thanks kidcat (hugs) were both doing the right, thing for our selves our family. It hurts but we'll get, there
Stilty thats, whats, hurt that they threw mainstream back in my face repeatedly. I fought for four years to keep ds2 in school without going, into a special unit. I won my battle and in y5 and with the, senco's help ds2 is staying put. Secondary school thats a another battle entirely.0 -
Morning all,
Kez, what drama, again! You are your family are better off without it. Eventually the parents' behaviour would influence their children as well.
Stilty, I hope they come through with funding ASAP. It seems a shame you've waited this long since you found she got on well with the device.
Kidcat, that sounds like a rough time ahead. I hope your DH can get time off work.
I'm just plodding along with my work. I've been a bit up and down but not too bad. I think the worst of it is I'm on edge waiting to have side effects from the new medication. I can be a bit of a worrier, and I'm particularly keen that things be smooth sailing for our weekend in Bath.
Trying a couple of new recipes this week. Last night was an aubergine pasta dish--very simple. I just roasted the aubergines and stirred into a basic red pasta sauce with chilli in. Small sprinkle of herbs from the window and some parmesan. OH actually liked it which surprised me as he normally doesn't fancy pasta much. Tonight is a courgette, thyme and walnut soup. Its one of those recipes that could either be lush or a bit strange and bland.
Right, its up and to work.0 -
Morning all, just a quick pop in. My mum was rushed into hospital last night with major heart problems. Her heart beat was 96 and then 102 and her blood pressure went high then low then high again.
She has just rang to say she is going on to the cardiac ward and will let me know whats happening. Please say a little prayer for her please....
DD had her operation yesterday they had to removed a wisdom tooth that was growing into where the jaw hinges. She was in major pain last night.
Take care everyone xBSC member 137

Nutty, big hugs to you! I hope they manage to find out what is causing problems for your mum and that it is nothing serious, and hopefully your DD is in less pain today. Look after yourself, with all of these people to look after you will need it.x0

Debbie,
How is your quilting? Have you started yet? I'm not a big quilter myself, although my mum is. I've just gotten a sewing machine myself after saving and convincing relatives to contribute as my xmas pressie. I'm still getting the hang of it--I'm relatively confident with basic sewing as I did that when younger on my mums, but things like buttonholes she used to do for me as her machine was old and finicky. It is very absorbing, although diagrams are not my strong point. My OH often comes in to ask a question when I'm in the middle of deciphering one. Poor man doesn't understand how I can find it relaxing to puzzle over something so much! I hope your spirits are high today. x0
