KEZLOU...KIDCAT.......You are both marvelous how you deal with your children when you have real problems, I take my hat of to you both, as I know its not easy , my son and DIL have an autistic son who is now 10, he is now getting very strong indeed, they have been told how to restrain the boy when he goes into melt down, not nice at all.........................
KIDCAT ...Glad your OH will have a word with your parents , cant believe they dont realise how much you have on your plate ..............
POOKY.....Thats why I dont want carpets because they half hold on to the mess, at least with wooden/tiled floors they can be washed all the time , and you never get a bad smell like you do with carpets, although I know you were talking about your rug..........Id love to have wall to wall cream carpets everywhere but no way with a dog:eek:.......
Im watching the darts final on BBC2 now and its a brilliant final.......Sheila0 -
Us too Mar. We've realised the hot water tank has been on all the time and not just kicking in on off peak. That's been draining the electric. We've got the night storage heater down now too so our credit is lasting a little longer.
Pink it is a glorious day here isn't it. I am house hopping in just my tunic and loving the spring in my step.
I too have been doing the meat 3 for £10 and half it. It's working fine for us.
Does any OSers seem to permanently have an empty fridge like us? As soon as I'm paid I want to fill it with ham, cheese, pate, salad, dips and fruit juice. My ladies have fuller fridges than I do and I've a family to feed!
No, I have an empty fridge too, got sick of it all getting thrown out. My mum used to have all that stuff in but then they ate dinner really early and so had a sandwich for supper later.
We only EVER have dips at christmas, you can wizz through an astonishing amount of calories with blessed dips, devils own food they are!0 -
Shegar - I think as they grow we often forget how big they are getting and then one day you realise they are bigger than you.
Fuddle - totally forgot earlier, I have the opposite problem in that our fridge is so tiny its permanently crammed and I struggle - but there are four adult appetites and two children to cram into my fridge whereas you have much less. I often found when the kids were all younger and OH worked evening shifts that it was much emptier. From an electric usage point of view if a fridge is empty it has to work harder to keep cool - so its worth packing the fridge out to keep it full (that was what the engineer told us years ago) - I have used empty milk bottles filled with water and even newspapers in the past.
Kez - if school was the trigger then you need to show school the damage, they need to understand the true repercussions of what is happening.0 -
Kez: I don't understand why the school didn't know that this sort of thing was happening. To my recollection children couldn't wait to tell the teacher if someone was indulging in behaviour like this. How come they weren't being supervised, or was it happening off the school premises? I agree with Kidcat - the school should see the consequences of what is happening.
I'm afraid I'm only OS over some things. Having spent the first half of my life struggling with things like hand washing and having no fridge at all I'm afraid that if there is some machine that will do the time consuming boring things for me I'll save up for it.
I also love to see washing blowing on the line and get into beds with sheets that smell of fresh air, but on a murky damp day I've no guilt at all in using the Tumbler and I give thanks for it.
I remember that I had an automatic washing machine long before it was commonplace. I was determined to get one before I gave up work to have the children. My MIL was horrified! It didn't stop her using it for her sheets though.
All of you look after yourselves for the next few days, I won't be here to lecture you. Keep warm and safe.

Morning all, well I ended up with a very busy evening. I visited my friend for a cuppa, put all her problems into perspective and made her feel better before she had to go to work. While we were there, I nipped onto landofbay and bid on a rattan chair and won it for £2.50 . Later I received a message from a seller that had a whole bedroom furniture set and she has agreed to sell me the dressing table/desk and a mirror for £20 it is solid wood too. So waiting has paid off, and I have the most happy daughter.
Back to work this week, after having a relaxing week off - OH still has this week off but he has a couple of jobs to do. Mainly put up the roller blind we have had for over a month and to sort out the light for the front of the house.
KeZLOU and KIDCAT I know our local school has a playground supervisor. There is also a teacher checking as well. Any sort of behaviour deemed likely to cause any harm is stopped straight away.
Well must do some jobs as OH has nipped DD to the bus stop at the end of the village. take care everyoneBSC member 137

nutty - DS9 school has several teachers and assistants out at all times and as DS9 is an escaper he has two ASD trained staff who must be out whenever he is. So there is usually good supervision.
DD7 school has much less - but in their defence there are much fewer kids with additional needs, but there are more issues on their yard by miles.
So it really is all down to good supervision and knowing the kids who need careful watching.
I have the dentist specialist today and I am already freaking out, havent slept all night and would happily cancel given half a chance. However as the infection is still raging and has swollen again I know I have to go no matter what.0 -
Kidcat- I do not usually post, just had to give your hand a little squeeze for the dentist. You can do this! All be over soon and hopefully you will get some rest tonight. Take care my lovely.0

kidcat I find it helps to focus on something really nice I am going to do after the dentist. Doesn't have to be anything big, maybe treating yourself to a magazine or a bunch of flowers or whatever you would really look forward to. That and doing really difficult times tables in my head while I am in the chair:rotfl: you'll soon be back to tell us it's all over.0
